First National Bank has grown from a $3.6 million bank in 1956 to a $300 million bank today. Our historic milestones include:
1958 – bank gains $1.75 million in just ten weeks
1969 – a new, modern building is built around the original site
1985 – the bank reaches $100 million in assets
2016 – we celebrated our 60th anniversary as a community bank
Our main branch, located in downtown Alamogordo, has an interesting history. The bank began its operations in a small remodeled doctor’s office on the same site where we are located today. Although it’s been renovated several times, the original structure is incorporated in the interior of the current building, adding a charming historic reminder in today’s fast-paced world.
