A friend recommended we try Flamingos, and I'm so happy we did. The restaurant is set up so nice, you can sit in a booth or spread out at an open table and chairs. The ambiance is a cross between the beach and the desert. The food was wonderful and the staff was super friendly. A very warm.and welcome restaurant great for family and friends!
Worth checking out. It's an old place and no AC or in the bar area so a bit warm at night. The free chips are good and the salsa was kinda hot although they don't tell you. The Flamingo Margarita on ice in a normal glass was good too. I enjoyed the Enchilada Rancheros one with shredded cheese the other cheese. Good for in an older restaurant kind of vibe.
For me, Los Compadres off of Pine in Long Beach is my benchmark. This place is good for this area.Food: 4/5
My favorite Mexican place is the area! No frills, cozy spacious booths, big portions and as many have mentioned before: amazing chips and salsa that get refilled far to quickly before your main course arrives. Only downside that is easily forgotten because of the variety of margaritas on the menu? No horchata, which I can totally abide by. No need for a reservation if you show up by 18.30 on a week day and even if there’s a wait it’s always fast. Don’t take my word for it. The pictures of their meals here speak for themselves <3.
Good food and drinks inside this older restaurant. Attentive wait staff. Food ca.e out quick. Good Chios and salsa that has some .Food: 5/5
It wasn't very busy, but we wouldn't see the server for 15+ minutes at a time. It took about that long before anyone stopped by to even take our order. Dropped off the check, had to wait until 15 minutes before he grabbed my credit card. The food was hot and fresh, but very lacking in flavor. It was purely average.
I was out on a date night with the wife and randomly chose this place. We ran into a waiter in the parking lot and asked on a scale of 1-10, what would you rate this place? he answered 9 only because there is always room for improvement. His honesty made use try it. He ended up being our server and a damn good one at that. The food was perfect, not overly seasoned, flavorful, and good portions. The service was a 10 out of 10; the atmosphere was a 10 out of 10, and all around the whole experience here was a 10. Thank you to our server, Alex, and the rest of the staff for a memorable night.
Went for girl’s lunch with my d-I-l. Server was extremely cordial, pointing out the most cost efficient way to order our choices! But DO NOT GET THE CADILLAC MARGARITA!! I’m used to enjoying 2 large margaritas. This had a high ant. of cheap bitter rail tequila. We sipped it for over an hour and couldn’t get half way down the glass!! Beans were not good, dark, did not like the flavor. Waiter was great!
Really good Mexican homemade tasting food along with professional service. The bar area is the best... A bunch of TVs and large booths. Great happy hour and a fun local taco Tuesday party too.
Visited this establishment for the first time recently for my church's diner fundraiser. The food was very good, as was the service. Enjoyed the shredded chicken enchilada with Mexican rice and a side salad. I appreciate the restaurant sponsoring the diner fundraiser for my church. I look forward to a future visit here soon.
