Its been a while since we have been here but the food and service is always amazing. It takes me back home when ever I come here. Everything is priced nicely and the food is truly spot on. I will always come back. The food, staff, atmosphere, and location are all good to me. Vegetarian options: They have a wide enough selection of vegetarian options. Indian cuisine have alot of vegetarian/vegan dishes.
I would start by saying I had tried 100s of Indian restaurant across the US. Food was made very fresh. Like baingan was made to order with all fresh spices. Veggie korma was not traditional, big chunk of carrots, potato etc. and weren’t throughly cooked. It had crunch to it, as it was fresh carrots and not boiled enough. On the other side, garlic naan was Fantastic and well done as requested. I was hoping for onion kulcha with stuffing inside, but it was on the top as regular naan. Overall, it is not a place for north / West Indian veggie lovers as dishes were not traditional veggie. But ingredient were very fresh. I had tried from here before and seems it’s under new ownership since dishes and menu is pretty different
This place earns my 5 stars because it is really the flavors of India. Mango Lassi was really good. You should try the Veg. Samosas with their different kinds of sauces. I tried the Trio Tandoori in a hot plate. Naan breads made so fresh.
We devoured the food so fast I almost forgot to take photos.. So good. I’m normally not a tandoori chicken fan but my mom ordered the tandoori combination and it was soo good. Spring rolls were excellent sauces were too.. Definitely my go to Indian place from now on.
Everything about this place is great. Dark, quiet and amazing flavors of India. We are lucky to have it so close by here in Bradenton. I’m a Medicare agent so I’m always working, studying health plans and reading updates. Try this place - thank me later! TheMedicareAgent.US
We’ve eaten here twice and it was our favorite dining experience in the area. The chicken saag, vindaloo, and butter chicken are absolutely tasty and fresh! Cheese and garlic naan is also superb. Great customer service as well. Highly recommended if you are looking for a fantastic Indian meal.
UPDATE 5/4/22: I am writing this with so much sadness in my heart. We went there tonight, and the restaurant we used to love has completely changed for the worst. Everything used to be so perfect and delicious, and I honestly have no idea why they've changed it. This used to be one of our most favorite restaurants in the area, and over the past 4 years we've been here probably 100 times or more. Yes, I'm very serious. We were faithful customers, and as soon as covid ended, we were right there when they opened back up for carryout only and then, back to table service again. Tonight I ordered our usual 2 meals and a bunch of appetizers as soon as we sat down, and over 30 minutes later, with only two other tables in the restaurant and only one of them waiting for their food which arrived 10 minutes after us, and we still hadn't received any food. Then the server came by and asked my mom if she wanted her first choice because they just magically got it back in stock? All that time and our food hadn't even been started yet?? Going there tonight and seeing all the dishes we knew and loved being changed/ruined, and then on top of it, having bad service for the first time ever, it literally broke our hearts. Never in my life have I done this before tonight, but we actually got up and left because we were so upset. We offered to pay for the few things he brought out but we never ate, but he told us not to. It's just so upsetting what's happening around here, and now we've lost yet another great one. The pictures attached are NOT from today and do not reflect their recent changes OLD REVIEW: My mother and I go to this restaurant at least two times a week if not more. We absolutely love every single thing about this restaurant! We even decided to go out and try the other Indian restaurants in the area but none of them compare to Flavors of India. The service is amazing at this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they offer suggestions and help answer questions. The food is flavorful and very authentic. The atmosphere is quiet and very comfortable. Like I said we went to other Indian restaurants in the Sarasota and Manatee County areas and none of them came close to Flavors of India. We have never been there for the lunch buffet so I cannot speak about that but I can tell you that each and every time we have been for dinner, it has been absolutely amazing. I highly recommend trying their spicy house pickle. They are the only restaurant in town that makes it fresh. I typically have either the butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala and my mother has the bhindi masala. All of those dishes are absolutely amazing but you should most definitely try their coconut rice. It is out of this world amazing! Plus their naan is to die for especially the peshawari and the garlic paneer. I have never had a single bad meal at this restaurant and if I could give it more stars I would. I highly recommend Flavors of India!!!
I wanted to love the food, but most of the curry sauces tastes like they pureed some tomatoes, onions, and added a few meat chunks, heated it up and threw it in a bowl for you. They didn't cook it until the sauce separated from the oil, which is the correct way to cook curries, well unless you are making a soup. Garlic naan used to be crispy and flavorful, but now it's soggy and barely has garlic flavor. For the price you pay per dish, they need to hire someone that cares about what they're putting out. Not all of us are mindless and don't know what authentic Indian food tastes like. Besides this, I enjoyed the samosa.
We have eaten here 3 or 4 times now and really enjoy it. The food selection is great and dishes we've gotten are delicious. This time some of the naan we ordered was very dry and my husband asked for his dish's spicy level to be medium and it was completely mild, but my dish was so good and our other experiences here have been great.Food: 4/5
Just ate here for the first time and the entire experience was amazing. Had the lamb madras and my girlfriend had the salmon. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was excellence. The entire experience was wonderful. I only post when I find places extraordinary and this place is such. Dont miss out. Take your girl here. Very highly satisfied
