Don’t let the bad reviews lie to you. This place is amazing and one of the coziest spots in all of Denver. Our waiter Dan was very nice, very knowledgeable and prompt. We had a red wine flight, white wine flight, a small plate and a cocktail for a very reasonable price. Live music that wasn’t too loud and at a nice volume with an atmosphere that feels like you’re apart of their home. Would certainly go back and will be back.
Amity was an amazing, knowledgeable server and made our first Flights experience so sweet! She noticed it was my birthday and signed me up for Flights’ birthday club, which to my surprise led to an adorable wine glass keepsake at the end of the meal. The food was delicious and the wine flights were exceptional. Don’t sleep on the lavender Riesling!! We can’t wait to go back.
We are from out of state and were so happy to visit this establishment, unfortunately the service was beyond terrible. The waitress had no knowledge of the types of wines available and refused to even ask the “bartender” if we could taste a specific wine, even though she offered tastings to the table next to us. My friend ordered a rose’ and was given a sparkling wine instead, when she told the server it wasn’t what she ordered the server argued with her about it having bubbles…which were apparent in the glass. I was then even charged for the glass of wine that my friend asked to have returned. It’s amazing how one staff member, with zero customer service skills, can ruin your entire evening and cause you to never return.
I really wanted to like this place. But this was probably the worst service I’ve experienced in a while. Our server forgot our order over 5 times and we had to keep reminding him what we ordered. He came around our table multiple times and asked if we ordered something when we did 15 minutes ago. It took them about 20-30 minutes to get us our drinks and food out to us. When we asked them about the status of our Ofer, they said there was a holdup in the kitchen but then another waiter said it was a computer system problem…. Take note that all of our orders were written on a notepad. The wine and food are very good. But again if you’re okay with waiting for half an hour for a 6oz glass of wine this place is for you. Very dissatisfied with the service. Especially when there is only maybe 10 tables to serve…. Very poor service and I hope they learn from it.
We had a great time here. We came here for happy hour which is from 3-6pm. Seating at the patio and was moved to a gazebo when it started raining. Nice music, great server. She and the owner gave us a great recommendation for wine. I had the dessert flight, all of which are mellow and yummy. Such a great day to enjoy this little town before we leave.
This was my first visit and it was exactly what I needed. I had the happy hour flight for $12. The price was welcome as were the white, red, and rosé presented. While they were not wines I would have normally ordered, I found them intriguing and enjoyable. They were all blends and I found myself asking questions about their make-up. I also had the cherry, Brie and ham sandwich and it was great. I will have that again. The patio wasn’t set up when I came but I can envision a wonderful outdoor happy hour in the sun. The inside is quaint although I. An see it getting crowded and loud once this place picks up. There is not a lot of indoor seating so the key may be to coming early. And I will definitely be coming back.
Updated review July 17th, 2021:. Went with a few friends and noticed that the manager was talking to the performer about volume level. It was a great evening and we could have a conversation with the music in the background. Everything was good, drinks, food, service, interaction with the staff. All good! ----------------------------------- Great place with it's good and bad points. Let's start with the good and let's say great! Wonderful waitress by the name of Olivia, we wanted for nothing and she was extra knowledgeable. Answered every question we had. Wines were great, foods were great, ambiance was great and extra comfortable. Social distancing was in place but didn't feel like it as the back is nice and large. We even found a friend there that we had not seen in quite a while, that just made the evening even better. Everyone was nice and we will be going back for sure. Now a little bit of the not so great. First we couldn't have a conversation because the band, 2 people, 2 guitars and way too much amplification, seemed to think they were a headliner and not there to compliment the evening. This was an opinion shared repeatedly and not just mine personally. Next, one of the male staff just couldn't accept that the face mask should be covering nose and mouth, usually hanging below his nose. Finally, waiting to get in at the street, the wait was excessive. I dropped off two of my friends while I went to go find parking, when I walked back, about a block so not far, there was a couple waiting that was walking up as I pulled away, they were waiting long enough that I walked up and stood behind them waiting, and waiting and waiting, they finally were noticed and then escorted in and I waited and waited again, finally someone came to the street entrance and I got in. In my opinion that took way too long as there was plenty of staff and not a full house by far. So to wrap this up we plan on going back and introducing this great place to more of our friends. BUT, we will think twice only because Saturday will be the day we would plan to go and we will be competing to speak to each other with the band. Hard call if you want a relaxing evening with some friends and that is exactly what Flights can and should offer.
Great little find in Old Town Arvada area. Can get busy, but for a good reason! They have seating outside and some inside not as much. Support a small business! As hinted by the place's name, purchasing a flight of different wines to enjoy is the best way to go. I enjoyed the Italian reds flight, all from the same vineyard. Pinot, Cabernet, and Sangiovese. All were tasty and immediately transported me back to my travels in Italy. I had the bagna calda, which is essentially a cast iron dish with garlic cloves bathed in olive oil, herbs, and salt. I could smell other tables enjoying it before I ever considered it and I'm a big fan of the pungent garlic smell. Came with focaccia bread. Such a simple dish, but SO good. Service was great, recommendations were spot on, and patrons were noticeably bubbly about being at this wine bar. They do serve other alcoholic drinks for non-wine drinkers, but stick with the wine. They're knowledgeable and have a solid selection. You'll find options in every price range. They also provide event services. Parking: 20-30 in the immediate area Wheelchair accessibility: Exterior is super accessible.
Fantastic experience! Absolutely beautiful outdoor setting. Super attentive and friendly staff. We had the street tacos and steak flatbread. Made to perfection! Then we finished with strawberry cream puffs Highly recommend this spot!
Had a group of five. We had a nice rose that was their happy hour bottle. The red wine sangria was not the best, maybe it was just the brand of wine. Appetizers were good, hummus plate and charcuterie board. Our waiter left a little to be desired. Not much interaction with his guests. He was nice enough, just came across put out a few times. Neat patio area next to the train tracks. More on the expensive side, $30/ bottle, some drinks are $14 a glass. I will try again, I dont want to write it off after one experience.
