Flood Brook School, part of the Mountain Towns Regional Education District, is a K-8 school located in Londonderry, VT in the heart of the Green Mountains
Welcome to Flood Brook School! Serving 290 students from the communities of Londonderry, Peru, Landgrove, and Weston, we are proud of the key role that we play in the Mountain Towns of southern Vermont. FBUS is a K-8 school that prides itself on academic excellence, a small school sense of community, strong student-teacher relationships, and small classes. With an average class size of 15 students, teachers, administrators, and paraprofessionals are able to know their students on a much closer level than one would find at larger schools. Our 30-acres campus is nestled along Route-11, straddling the line between Londonderry and Landgrove, with amazing views of Magic Mountain and Stratton Mountain. The property also features nature trails with 1.5 miles of forest hiking, and an EnergiPrime exercise circuit for children and adults around the athletic fields walking path.
The Flood Brook School curriculum is one that celebrates rigor and creativity. Art is central to much of what we do here, and we work hard to infuse artistic expression, critical thinking, problem solving, and experiential learning in all that we do. Our students enjoy educational opportunities that can only be found in this wonderful region. They learn on-site at Keewaydin, Farm & Wilderness, Ticonderoga, Southern Vermont Arts Center, Magic Mountain TimberQuest, and much more! 60% of our teaching faculty hold advanced degrees, and ongoing professional development in all areas of elementary and middle school education ensures a high quality, leading-edge learning experience.
Our new Haiku website has many great features for parents and visitors. The lefthand menu bar is your main navigation pane. You can access teacher classes and profiles in the Faculty Index, information about school events, lunch menus, and more. To the right you will see a comprehensive slideshow that provides an overview of the Mountain Towns and our terrific school.

We will challenge ourselves to be lifelong learners, to practice respect, and to value community
