Our family was not financially prepared for the cost involved with a funeral and burial. However, once we shared our budget, Natalie, Jackie and their fabulous team helped us make the right decisions. We particularly liked that the service was live-streamed for family and friends unable to attend. The burial grounds at Purdy and Walters is really nice and we look forward to visiting the graveside of our deceased dad every so often. Rest well, josephkofiadjei.com
The staff at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills handled the care of our mothers remains with grace and kindness. Anais Avila and Katie Gilliam were kind, detail oriented and communicative making this difficult, emotional time easier to manage. We did not have much $ to spare and our mother’s passing was unexpected, so Annie was able to talk us through the price list and explain our options. Katie was able to describe the different cremation options and the process our mothers remains would go through. They were even able to explain how the process would expand when we got a call for cornea and organ donation. I would recommend them to anyone going through this experience.
The level of professionalism and knowledge has diminished since I used this organization last 2002 and 2008. I contacted the funeral home as soon as we knew my mother was entering hospice. I informed them she had a plot and that we want to make the arrangements knowing her passing would be within the week. The lack of listening, knowledge and apparent transfer from “pre-arrangement” to “death arrangements” was extremely confusing, taxing and stressful. Our mother passed 4 days later. The staff made the arrangements too complex and it was extremely stressful to the point that we did not feel like we had time to grieve despite the out of state funeral home Serenity Funeral Home who received her at passing was seamless and wonderful. Serenity cared for our mom with incredible respect and was anticipating the same with Floral Hills. Unfortunately, that is not what we experienced. We are from out of town, but was never offered a zoom or dedicated time to meet. Communications were lacking and we did not even have our assigned funeral director present on the day of service. Luckily, we he gal that filled in was very good and she showed us care and respect. I have my husband, father and now mother buried here. At present, I am not keen on any recommendation of a place that could not give you dedicated time to arrange services and was fraught with the ever so popular “we are extremely busy” every-time you had a conversation with them both over the phone or via email. The gals are sweet, but there is refinement, respect and dignity still needed here.
Annie is absolutely the person any Mom would want to help make arrangements to celebrate the life of your deceased child or loved one. The decisions as simple as food, music, and what flower arrangements to buy can become very overwhelming. I asked Annie to choose the flowers for me, and she did a beautiful job. Annie went beyond my expectations when she asked her florists if they could combine Megan's favorite flowers into beautiful boutiques. I never would've thought Sunflowers and Roses could go together, but they can. I trusted her with the most intimate celebration that no one wants to throw. She is kind, resourceful, knowledgable, compassionate, gentle, and decisive when it was asked of her. She responded to every question I had, with ease. She consistently assured me I was not asking irrelevant questions even though I worried they may be inconsequential. If you're experiencing a horrible tragic loss, what you need the most are kindness and patience. In our case, Annie was exactly the woman we needed. She is phenomenal! My heartfelt thank you could never be enough to express our gratitude. Shannon
I have unfortunately had to prepare a few funerals; the process was made as easy as possible considering the situation. The staff was extremely compassionate, respectful and helpful and went out of their way to accomplish needed takes. My family has resided at this cemetery for over 30 years and the grounds remain as well kept today as it was so many years ago.
We would like to thank Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery and its employees for their professional and caring arrangements for my father who recently passed. Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills handled my father with love and care. Katie G was our funeral director and she was absolutey amazing. When we first arrived, we were still in shock with the whole situation. Katie stepped in and made things so much easier on our family through this extremely difficult time. She was very responsive, and replied within mintues for any questions we had through the whole process. Due to the love and respect we have for our father, we wanted everything to be perfect for the funeral service and it was. I can't tell you how much this meant to us. Thank you so much! Nancy L. assisted us in finding a our final resting place for my father. Nancy was great, she was transparent, honest and patient with us. She really took the time to listen to what we wanted for our father and the moment we walked the area we knew this was the place we wanted him to be. Thank you!
This was the highest quote I got but I picked this facility because they were the most caring. I love my son more than anything in this world and even after his passing I wanted to make sure he was loved and cared for, they did that. Mel has been wonderful and very comforting. This has been overwhelmingly difficult but she has made it a little easier.
Excellent. Annie the Funeral Director was very understanding, supportive and compassionate. She assisted me in making George’s last directives easy to achieve. Everything went well from the church services to the burial ceremony at the Tahoma Veterans Cemetery. My heartfelt gratitude to Annie Avila.
Once you come the point where you need a funeral service to help bring everything to a conclusion, the last thing you need is a sales pitch or a guilt trip . My family certainly did not get that…. We wanted simplicity and professionalism coupled with kindness and understanding. That’s what Purdy & Waters gave us. Thank you.
I made a mistake on the death certificate for my late father. Our funeral directory, Melissa, was on top of it, and got the issue resolved. The entire experience with Purdy & Walters was exceptional.
