The ER visit went about as quickly as they go. They were attentive and ran multiple diagnostics to ensure my eye issue was resolved. The radiologist was friendly, ensured I was comfortable, and explained what was going on during my CT. The Dr. was on call and arrived quickly, was knowledgeable, and professional. The only issue was that my medications were sent to a pharmacy that wasn’t open at the time and required being sent somewhere else.
I was never seen after sitting there with chest pain for 6.5 hrs. Most of the nurses or staff never provided their name or introduce themselves before touching me. That is every important, to me look me in the eye and talk to me I am not a product or an animated object, I'm a human being. I left without being seen before people were getting agitated for sitting and waiting so long and it was every late at night.
Was told to go to this ER because one of my symptoms was chest pain. Sat for 4+ hours and had some simple tests done blood draw and Xray and was discharged with no diagnosis despite still having symptoms listed under the "seek immediate medical attention" category on the discharge papers. Received an absurd $8000+ dollar bill days later. If you can make it, drive further out to a different hospital. It seems like you'll have a better chance at getting treatment.
The wife had gone to our PCP for a head pain issue, we were told to go to a ER for a cat scan. We chose Advent ER as it was closer than TGH ER. 7 hours later we had been told the cat scan 4 hour wait was negative and she more than likely had a infection and would need anti-biotics it took 3 hours for the "provider" to give her 1 pill and tell us they had sent the prescription to our pharmacy. Now I worked on a Ambulance for many years so I know how triage works in a ER. During our time there she had her vitals taken at best four times one with the BP cuff wrapped around her elbow. Never during our time there were we offered any water or something to eat I had even asked about the cafeteria "Oh they are closed" As it was after 10pm our pharmacy was closed so the next I went to pickup the prescription only to find they had sent it to the WRONG PHARMACY. So in closing my advice go elsewhere for your emergency
I checked in on Thursday with pain and a very high fever, I was afraid to go to the hospital alone because of bad experiences at other facilities but AdventHealth is by far the best hospitals I’ve ever been to, from the nurse to the doctors they were all amazing, gentle with their approach, extra caring throughout my entire experience. Definitely such a safe and amazing place in the time of sickness.
My 85 year old husband with some dementia fell at a care center and was taken to Advent ER. We sat in a room from 10am till 1pm when he was sent to get a CATS Scan. It only took minutes and was negative for injury. A little after 1pm the doctor came in to look at him and said he needed stitches to close a gash on his forehead. He came back at 2pm and numbed his forehead. He never came back again till 4pm when he proceeded to stitch. My husband yelled in pain and the doctor said he could put more numbing in. Of course I said that would be great since it was 2 hours ago that he numbed it. After finishing, the staff said they would make arrangements for him to be sent back to the care center. He never arrived back to the care center till 10pm. It was the longest and worst day for me and especially my husband. We sat very patiently in the room and no one ever came in to tell us what was going on. They just made us wait. The hospital should never have accepted him if they couldn't handle 7 stitches which should have only taken 30 minutes. My husband has fallen before so we have been to your ER before and like this time we waited for over 10 hours. Unfortunately the paramedics take him there. You need to get your act together if you're going to service people.
I feel like I was well taken care of by the majority of the nursing staff. Sometimes everyone had completely different answers about my care. I wish I would’ve been advised better of what to expect or how to prepare to come home. I just don’t feel I should’ve went home after one night. I could’ve used another night or two.
Pretty sure I have covid. Funny tho was the only thing they didn't check for... they sure had no problem running all sorts of expensive test to charge insurance.
I believe that the waiting time was 4 hous and 30 minutes approximately if not more, to be seen by a nurse was excessive. I do not recalled any doctor personally attending the medical condition. No type of pain control was given, even reporting 7 to 8 on the pain scale. Prescription was provided for the condition and released home. I will try another medical facility next time.
Most of the health professionals that I talked with were nice, however some only complained to their coworkers about their shift while I was standing on one leg in front of them in pain with a burnt foot. I waited 5 hours in total, so painfully slow that by the time I received treatment my issue was no longer an emergency. It should not be called an ER with this type of service.
