"Since 2004 Flower Girl has been bringing lush and whimsical arrangements with a distinct edge to New York City. Native New Yorker Denise Porcaro founded Flower Girl in 2004 having come from a background in production design for film. After discovering a creative outlet in flowers, she began crafting striking arrangements and bouquets for a select group of clients and friends. Over time, demand for Denise’s unique style grew through word-of-mouth praise, and Flower Girl was born. Today you can find Flower Girl's retail location on Eldridge Street in the Lower East Side."

We loved the Spring Walk to Workshop!! My daughter and I attended the Spring Walk to Workshop as a special travel experience during our vacation in NYC. We had a wonderful time making lasting memories. It was an amazing opportunity to experience the New York flower market in Chelsea with the fabulously-talented owner of Flower Girl, Denise Porcaro Tupper, and her delightful staff. We met in the flower district on a beautiful Spring morning. We saw such a gorgeous array of beautiful plants and flowers. It was a great time for experiencing Spring flowers; lilacs, tulips, peonies,hydrangeas, roses, wisteria were in abundance. We saw gorgeous tropical foliage, orchids, succulents and great big branches for creating spectacular and ethereal floral designs. We visited a huge showroom of dried flowers in every color imaginable. Denise helped us pick out 8-10 types of flowers and greenery to make a fabulous combination of colors and texture. I’ve never seen such such gorgeous and fresh flowers. We chose Ranunculous,Sweet Pea, Anenome, Lilac, Lisianthus, spray roses, Astranthia, Waxflower and Seeded Eucalyptus. Denise was incredibly generous with her time and insights about her career and business which was so wonderful for my daughter who is just getting started in the industry. Denise is such a wonderful role model of creativity and success. We strolled a few blocks to the Flower Girl shop where we had a lovely array of fruit and pastries and coffee. Denise gave us a primer on prepping our flowers and shared her design philosophy in creating an arrangement. She also gave us practical info about caring for our arrangements for a longer vase life. We received an adorable Flower Girl tote bag with goodies including a fab smelling signature Flower Girl candle,a note pad, and a pair of vintage style scissors. A professional photographer took pictures of us with our arrangements so we have a lasting record of them. We left the shop and delivered our arrangements to a friend of my daughter who lives in the city since we were getting on a plane the next day. She was surprised and delighted! I highly recommend taking a Flower Girl workshop. It is a fabulous experience you will never forget!
Had a company "build-a-bouquet" event in our office in March to highlight women owned businesses. We also requested a last minute increase in headcount, which they made sure was delivered in less than a day. The staff is very insightful helpful, prompt, full of energy. We really enjoyed the event, company & staff. Would definitely recommend!!!!
Flower Girl did table arrangements at Il Buco restaurant for our son's graduation party dinner. They were gorgeous! We were coming in from out of town so discussed some ideas with their staff. They had great recommendations and when we showed up the table looked amazing. Highly recommended for dependability and creativity.
I ordered a simple bouquet of peonies for my civil wedding. They’re not in season but I sent a reference picture the first beautiful attached image and was told I could have it. I paid a fortune for 8 stems. I wasn’t told they would send me a completely different variety of peonies that didn’t have that beautiful multi layered fluffy aspect. They were also FULLY opened and falling apart. There wasn’t one good angle for a photo. It was delivered 3h before the ceremony on a Sunday. I called, left a voice message and emailed - nobody responded. I guess it’s COVID times so BEWARE, there’s no service whatsoever on Sundays! I ordered some last minute ranunculus from a different florist. On the following day I got the most lame response saying peonies had different phases and they are all beautiful. ‘As you know, we are dealing with nature’, ‘we hope that you were able to enjoy them through all of their stages of blooming as they are fresh’ and so on. Next day the flowers were melting, 2 days later COMPLETELY DEAD. And I was given another lame excuse. Nothing was offered, not even a nice honest phone call. I asked other professionals if the condition of the flowers was acceptable and they told me ‘ABSOLUTELY NOT’. I am not someone who leaves bad reviews but I really felt disregarded and wouldn’t wish such disappointment to anyone, specially on their important day. Terrible, terrible costumer service. ‘We take pride in what we create at Flower Girl, and there is nothing that could be done better or differently here with regards to your variety, timing or cost. We hope this further clarified your points and that we have the opportunity to work with you again in the future.’ NEVER EVER.
Huge thanks to your Chelsea location and Maurice for providing me with such excellent service last week!! I placed an order over the phone, as I live in Canada near Toronto, and Maurice so patiently helped me create a wonderful birthday gift for my son's girlfriend. It consisted of a gorgeous dried flower bouquet, soaps, teas, balms, Palo Santo sticks and more. He kindly chose flowers that would match their decor, explained all products in detail and ensured everything was packaged beautifully. The birthday girl absolutely loved her gift and I am so pleased to have now found my "go to florist" in NYC!!
Hosted a baby shower there and it was an amazing venue! The show owners were incredibly accommodating and kind, and it was a breeze to plan. Best yet, you can ask to leave all of the flowers out, so your event is naturally surrounded by flowers!
Ordered flowers, paid for flowers, and made specific flower requests the night before Valentine's Day after a couple of nice experiences here last year. Called again on Valentine's Day morning to confirm the order. Arrived mid-afternoon to find nothing had been done and selection was limited. Was thinking of using Flower Girls to provide weekly luxury bouquets for my building, but if they can't get a single pre-order right...
Ive been following the flower girl on Insta for over a year. It was such a delight as an Alaskan herbalist and genuine flower lover to actually check out the shop in person. The shop is cozy, well-lit, and has a nice array of seasonal fresh flowers. The staff was helpful. I picked up some of my favorite wood incense soaked in Palo Santo for cleansing.
Ordered off website and paid over $300 for an arrangement. What was delivered vs the picture on the website was outrageous. I called them and they could have cared less about the difference between what you see below. In what world are these arrangements anything alike? Will never order from Flower Girl again.
Lovely flower shop! Stopped by to pick up a small Flower Girl for a gift and was impressed with the wide selection of flowers in the store. They also have chocolates and candles and airplants! The arrangement was beautiful and a hit at my friend’s birthday party. She received many compliments and was very happy. Great service as well! I would definitely order from Flower Girl again in the future.
