This is the second time I have used Flowerwood for family funerals in Arlington Heights. Their attention to detail, price and genuine care is worth the drive. The flowers in the picture on the red tablecloth are two days old and still look amazing. My father-in-law still has two large arrangements at his house and they are a cheer to have around.
They Had Great Customer Service And Very Good Quality Live Christmas Trees And I Bought Earlier Than Normal But, Its Beautiful, My Family And I Are 100 % Happy And We'll Go Next Year To!!
My mom and I used to go here all of the time when I was younger before the place was sold and they always had such a great verity of items. Lovely and unique gifts that you can't find anywhere else. Beautiful Christmas displays with trees in almost every room filled with lovely ornaments. A great layout that kept the place from getting too cluttered with people when it was busy. An outdoor green house. Large indoor green houses. They even placed orders for people who needed to send flowers out of state. My godmother had called them up to ask for a flower arrangement to be sent to one of her former riding students who had won a championship in college, and Flowerwood sent the order to a florist closer to the college and they didn't disappoint as the student was greeted with a large horseshoe in the shape of flowers. Since it went under new ownership, my mom and I only went 2 or 3 times before the building was changed and things seemed to go under fast! Whenever I drive by, it makes me so sad to see that the new owner did this to this lovely place. I've heard that the roofs on the green houses were starting to cave in and that's scary since people need to go in there in order to get their flowers. Very dangerous! I feel really bad for the people that have worked there and had to go through all of this. Maybe someone else will take over the place and turn it back into the place that it used to be back in its heyday. Also, if my last name looks familiar, yes, I am related to one of the pervious owners and he's not the reason this place was turned over to the current owner. He had warned his business partner about selling to this person and he didn't take his advice.
Just visited this place and it seems as though things that are 50% off should be 80% off. It seems as though the owners have forgotten what a reasonable price point for a pot or a hanging flower piece is. Definitely don't expect to buy anything from here without spending $500-$1k for only a few items. This is probably the reason it is going out of business!
Me and my family have been coming here since my child hood. The service is great and place is very nice even that it’s very old. And since I love Ceiling fans they had a lot of them there. But sadly they only two of them now.
This place is a health hazard, I know this place is going out of business but the deporable conditions of the grounds and the building are unbelievable. To expect employees to work in such conditions let alone have customers walk through and be exposed to the mold and mildew from the water saturated ceiling and moldy carpet. Also this man is so greedy that he has priced his plant material and other items well above normal pricing to still try and turn a buck. It is just sad that such an iconic Crystal Lake business was trashed so badly after being sold many years ago. This used to be such a great nursery in which I use to go all the time. The current owner it is apparent that all he looked at this business for was making a quick buck and gouging people. So please please dont support someone who thinks these conditions are acceptable. Also if you have any health sensitivities to mold and mildew dont go inside!!! The health department needs to shut this place down immediately!!!
The 2 young women working were nice and helpful. I cant give a 5 star rating to a place that is closing. I got 50 percent off so was happy.
My Daughter and I just returned home from FlowerWood Garden Center, I've never written review's but I was so impressed with the quality of product and service that I had to write something as soon as I returned home. My Daughter wanted to find a thank you gift for her teachers and she is picky and wanted something nice, fun and interesting. Mandy greeted us kindly and assisted us in finding the perfect gifts. They had a vast selection of healthy looking plants, floral arrangements and gifts and I noticed that the prices were far less than I've paid elsewhere. I've been to every garden center in the region and have been mainly disappointed with either poor quality, poor selection and price. I was pleasantly surprised that FlowerWood exceeded my expectations in all of those areas. I am very satisfied with my experience today and as far as I'm concerned, there is no need for me to shop anywhere else.
Staff is useless, owner is a jerk. Went downhill after buyout a couple decades ago. Poorly maintained. Given it several chances over the years. Finally going out of business now.
They have a sign in front that says 50%off. While in fact is priced SO HIGH, working people can't afford it. Going out of business, I can see why. LOWER YOUR PRICES AND PEOPLE WILL COME.
