Fluor Field at the West End

Description

Fluor Field at the West End is a 5,700-seat baseball-only stadium in Greenville, South Carolina that opened on April 6, 2006. Designed by architectural firm DLR Group, it was built as a new home of the Greenville Drive baseball team, the A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.FeaturesFluor Field nearly replicates the dimensions of Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. The ballpark has its own "Green Monster" replica, a 30-foot high wall in left field as opposed to the 37-foot one found at Fenway, and contains a manual scoreboard. Every other dimension is to the same specifications as Fenway Park, including "Pesky’s Pole" in right field. Other than the tribute to Fenway, Fluor Field also pays tribute to the Greenville area as the ballpark's nostalgic look utilizes reclaimed bricks from local mills. As is the tradition in Fenway Park, Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" is sung in the middle of the eighth inning. In 2007, the Greenville Drive privately funded the enhancement of Fluor Field at a cost of approximately $1.5 million. One of these enhancements include a display regarding Greenville's baseball heritage with information about players who were either born or played in the upstate region. On Tuesday, February 26, 2008 the stadium was officially renamed to Fluor Field at the West End. The field was named for Fluor Corporation, a major local employer.EventsThe field hosted the 2009, 2012 and 2013 Southern Conference Baseball Tournaments as well as the 2016 and 2017 editions. It will continue to do so until at least 2019.

What a fun night out! Great little baseball stadium with plenty of seats, all with great views of the field and a play area for the kiddos! Lots of food options and drinks, tickets are very reasonable and on Friday nights they have fireworks. If you bring a pocketbook it must be under 8 inches wide and they will search your bag or you can bring a clear bag so they can see in it. There is a cute gift shop that sells all the Drive Team sports memorabilia. It's right in the heart of downtown Greenville in Main street surrounded by great restaurants, bars and Falls Park on the Reedy. Highly recommend!
Nice ballpark and the put on a really good show for the ballgame. Fun stuff between innings. Video board was top notch. Only dings were the food being uninspired, sEATz app delivery options were limited, and security to get in needs some bowls or something if they are going to have you empty all of your pockets.
We visited Fluor Field to take in a Greenville Drive baseball game while on a weekend road trip to Greenville. We sat in the "Green Monster" seats in left field, modeled after the Green Monster at Fenway Park in Boston. They were a lot of fun! The lower deck of the Green Monster has bar-type seating, but the upper deck where we sat has small individual tables with four seats clustered around it so that all faced the field. There was plenty of space on the table to place food and drinks, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of sitting in this special location. The game was entertaining, the restrooms were plentiful and clean, and there were ample concession stands. The game was well attended by enthusiastic fans, and the experience was topped off by a great Friday Night Fireworks show. My son, who has visited many minor league ballparks, said this was his best minor league ballpark experience ever. I agree. Greenville is a wonderful town to visit, and Fluor Field is certainly one of the city's jewels.
This ballpark is great! It was very clean and we'll staffed. Crowd control was good. This is a wonderful family friendly and disability friendly setting. They have plenty of stocked, clean bathrooms and tons of reasonably priced food options. Nice serving of chocolate I cream in a souvenir helmet was only $4! Don't forget to read the clear bag policy. I liked that their mascot roams around and that photos with him are free of charge. It's important to be alert when seated behind the netting. Multiple balls managed to get over the safety netting and into the fan sections. It was honestly nerve wracking, bc the net only catches some of the tipped balls. Fans ultimately DO have a responsibility to pay attention!! Both teams tonight had some awesome diving catches! It was a lot of fun to watch! My group had an overall great game experience and I'd enjoy returning. Parking tip: behind the $10 pay lot there's an apartment building with a parking garage that offers public parking. It's PERFECT and basically right across the street from the entrance. I only had to pay $5.00.
Not nearly enough sun shading in any area for attendants. Hydration stations should be readily available, but none were present. Industrial fans with misting should be placed in every high traffic area, but none were present. I threw my tickets away and left early. The catered food was cold, and covered with flies due to lack of sanitary serving stations. The section we were seated in had zero sun shading. It’s as if you’d like the small children at the event to suffer a heat stroke. Also the black picnic tables placed directly in the sun, burned my daughters legs even after I doused them with ice water. The Drive is least thought out summer attraction in Greenville County. The front of the 500 club needs to add shading for events.
Another amazing time had here! I love this venue. This is one of the best bangs for your buck in the upstate! Their 4th of July show was credible!
I had a wonderful experience at Fluor Field. The venue was clean, the staff was friendly and food/drinks were reasonably priced. Watching a baseball game at this venue makes for a great family outing or a date with your spouse.
Great experience for the whole family. Easy convenient parking for $10. Staff was very friendly and happy to serve or be of assistance. Bathrooms an facility was extremely well kept and it was overall a greet experience. I would recommend a game to my friends and family and I will bring my family back!
Loved it easy parking. The stadium was well-designed and very easy to get. The price on refreshments was just that. Refreshing and low. So much better than going to Asheville. You feel safe in Greenville as opposed to the crime in Asheville. Will be going here for our baseball from now on.
What a great place to see a baseball game. Not a bad seat in the entire place and they definitely interact with the fans with games.
