Flying C Ranch

About

Flying C Ranch is not a real "working" ranch, but is a tremendous place to stop for a spell when traveling through the vast expanse of New Mexico.

Description

This store is located on Interstate 40 (Exit 234) near the middle of New Mexico a long way from "civilization". It is about 70 miles east of Albuquerque and 40 miles west of Santa Rosa. Flying C Ranch has the normal huge selection of merchandise that is offered at all our Bowlin Stores, but this store has a better than average selection of T-shirts, bajas, Indian and Mexican made blankets and leather jackets and vests. Exxon® fuel is available along with 24 hr. pay at the pump service and you can use your Exxon® Speedpass® to purchase anything. If you are in the need of Diesel Fuel, you've come to the right place!

Before you head on down the road, be sure to fill yourself up too. The Dairy Queen® has a large menu of Brazier® items and DQ Treats® available for you any time of the day

Really cool place to stop. I've been to a couple other places like this and this one is better quality overall. I bought one of the blankets which are very good quality and a very good price. A Flute which actually works, and two knives which weren't the best quality for the price, but you can sharpen them
Nice rest stop and gas station. Clean amenities and DQ restaurant. Lots of souvenirs and Indian gifts plus FIREWORKS Great stop to gas up and get snacks while on the road!
Honestly a great place that I'll be coming back to. Unfortunately found this shard if something in my food from Dairy Queen in my burger. Honestly not mad nor do I believe was intentional. Glad to have places like this along I-40 that us truck drivers can stop at. Probably will just order chicken next time.
This place was EVERYTHING! The scenery is breathtaking, and the array of options are indescribable. I purchased one of a kind artifacts at amazing prices. Danny was very knowledgeable and helpful. This was my first stop in New Mexico on my road trip from North Carolina to Vegas. I’m definitely stopping on my way back!
Don’t trust the billboard, the bathroom is a health hazard and should be avoided at all cost. The men’s room has a bathroom stall that’s been out of order for months if not longer. They had plenty of opportunity to repair this while the roadwork on I-40 was underway. The hand dryers are deafening, and hardly work. Also there is no hand sanitizer in the bathroom. The other three toilets were absolutely disgusting. The manager of this place works at both the Dairy Queen and the trinket shop, and claims he has no idea what goes on in this place when he’s working in the Dairy Queen side of the building. If the bathrooms are constantly this bad, how could you trust that the food here is safe to eat?
“Bathrooms to the left, food to the right” We stop here every time we come this way. They have so much to choose from. Super friendly staff. I now own two serapes because of this place. They have a huge selection of kid items, clothing, art, hats & just junk souvenirs. The only downside right now July 2023 the 20 mile detour if you’re going westbound. The only way back to I-40 is to go back east that set us back an hour. But vacation…so who cares. Some things are well priced & some things think they came from Disneyland or a national park gift shop.
They have so many billboards to advertise before you arrive there. We had a good laugh. We have men things, next sign, women things, next sign cool things, many more signs. However, they worked and pulled us in. Lol. There are a lot of very nice gifts, great variety. I actually purchased something from there.
Good place to stop for authentic Mexican and native American decorations and clothing. Semi truck parking available.
A breath of fresh air in the travel center marketplace! It seems as if travel centers have evolved into oversized 7-Elevens staffed by grumpy, surly teenagers. This place is the opposite. Sure, it's full of overpriced trinkets, but the numerous staff are engaged, friendly and apparently happy? Weird huh? Furthermore, I had low expectations ordering a DQ breakfast. To my surprise, it was fantastic! BTW... restroom was spotless as well as the rest of the place. I had a very pleasant experience and will definitely stop here again.
Billboards galore all the way down the interstate really encapsulated us, so we stopped! Oh my goodness, what a great store. They have everything gift related you can think of, fireworks galore, lovely staff, the place is huge. Also, the gas pumps out liquid quick! I HAD to buy a lovely sage smudge stick for $11.99 - what a steal!!!!!!
