We create homes for our flying friends: bats, birds, butterflies, and ladybugs. Handcrafted and often hand painted, each of our homes are crafted with pride, most from reclaimed wood, in the heartland.
We are all about woodworking and crafting useful, fun and decorative items for the home and garden. Our story began with my wife and son buying a bat house from a local specialty bird store. I noticed the price and my jaw hit the floor. Knowing what the materials and time to make it cost, I ran right out, bought materials and created it for about a quarter of the price we paid.
This was my first foray into woodworking in a number of years and it sparked my interest again. My wife is an avid gardener and we try to promote a healthy organic garden; no pesticides, encourage good bugs, let nature do it's thing. I wanted ways to bring and keep those good bugs and started building butterfly and ladybug houses. Folks told us they were cute, we kept building and painting and folks started buying.
We've expanded from flyinghomes into other items; like wine racks, bottle openers, and six pack totes. We are always looking for more items to add to our line, so keep watching.
Most of our wood is reclaimed wood, making each item unique, rarely are any two items alike. We use durable paints and finishes for the projects use. Hand painting is our norm and performed by the whole family. Pride in workmanship is our standard. Your satisfaction is our goal.
