Terrible workmanship sums up my experience with FocalPoint Flooring. Unfortunately my builder didn't allow me to select who installed the floors. My house was built only 2 years ago and we've had problems with our LVP flooring immediately. Gaps all over and connection points that were never installed correctly creating high/low joints that you can see in the pictures. One spot got so bad that it actually splintered away again see pics. Had them come out to "fix" certain area's before the 1 year warranty expired, but more areas keep having this same issue and they won't do anything about it. They try anything they can to blame the owner for the problem, but it's 100% installation issue, confirmed with a good friend who owns a flooring business. They told me I would have to pay $200+ just to have someone come out and inspect the problems. Even the laminate in our bathrooms were absolute garbage on the install see pics. The person I spoke with from FocalPoint told me that the person who installed the floors was one of their more seasoned installers which is comical seeing all the similar reviews and experiences like I had. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company for any projects!
Vitali with Focal Point did a great job, going above and beyond to carefully install a challenging tile. Focal Point was great to work with and professional in every communication. Price was also very competitive.
The vynal flooring was cut too short right next to the bath. Instead of replacing the sheet they want to just patch the area. Would be noticeable and not as water resistant. I will be going with this option but not happy.
Focalpoint does wonderful tile work. They repaired our walk-in shower and it looks beautiful! This company is accommodating and friendly. I'd highly recommend them.
Like many others who have posted online reviews we were also very disappointed with Focal Point due to their poor workmanship. When we started to have issues with wrinkles in our carpet they quickly tried to blame us for not using the correct vacuum, not cleaning properly, etc. Although we followed their guidelines they wouldn’t stand behind their work. We had another company correct the issue and without hesitation they said “ your carpet should never look this bad after 2 years. It’s clear Focal Point took shortcuts during installation and didn’t use a power stretcher”. While I’m no expert it certainly made sense when nearly every room in the house had problems. You would think that after purchasing an entire house worth of flooring from them while building our home they would stand behind their work. We were forced to use Focal Point by our builder but if given the choice I would certainly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Our appointment went very smoothly. Karysa was wonderful, helping when needed with expert advise on the many tough decisions we had to make. She made the process stress free and easy to follow! Overall wonderful experience, we are very excited for our new house!
We have used Focal Point Flooring for several jobs-not only flooring but blinds as well and both in our home and our cabin. Our most recent project was perfect because of the attention to detail, wonderful customer service, competitive pricing and ease of working with the staff. Everyone on the team from design to purchasing and installation was professional and went above and beyond. Our project was on a tight time line so Focal Point worked around our schedule to make it happen- you won't find most companies that will do that. Kathy Smith and her team are not only easy to work with with but they make the project fun! Thank you again for helping us with our project and we will certainly call you again for future projects.
Hi FocalPoint Tina, Natalie and installers, Thank you for helping me through this process with my floors. My husband and I were astonished by the skill and speed of the installers that completed our floor. You would never guess we had a removal and replacement in our home. Our walls and trim look exactly the same as when they started. Thank you Natalie for all of your wise insite when you helped me select. My new floors are stunning and I LOVE them.
I highly recommend FocalPoint for your floor and window treatment needs! We had all Hunter Douglas blinds installed in our entire two story home, at a lower cost than three other stores. They were professional and a great team to work with! In fact, one blind was too tall for me for the easy rise, so Tom C. had it restrung for us, and we only had to pay the cost of sending it back to Hunter Douglas. They even came and rehung the blind! Our carpet was under warranty and had a few issues. Tina L. was wonderful to work with and communicated well with us on the entire process. The Mohawk representative was great too and we were able to get our new carpet installed in just a few weeks. Two great guys that actually knew carpet and installation were there doing a great job. Our new carpet looks awesome! I would not hesitate to use them again!
Our home builder used Focal Point to install the wood floor. It looks nice, and the first time we needed a repair was during the warranty period. They came out, replaced boards, and all was well. Accidents happen and we need another repair. This time, however, Focal Point was not very responsive. I sent the requested info/photos of damage but did not get a response. Two weeks later, I called and left a voicemail. Within a minute, this is the response I get by email, which is not edited in any way: “What would you like me to do with this one? He just called and left me a voice mail. Do you want me to tell him we do not have time Thanks, Scott Campeau Service Coordinator” Clearly, this email was not meant for me, and clearly they don’t want my business. I will be happy to oblige. I’m giving three stars for the past work, but customer service could use a lesson in professionalism and courtesy. Edit, post response from Kathy Smith: No, Kathy, I did not receive a voicemail from you.
