It’s not the most fun place for kids but it’s free and it’s a nice time filler in between other activities. You can climb aboard a real full size train to see the inside and there’s a train ride on a small train like the kind you see at community festivals or kids parties on certain days and a small wooden train for kids to play on. Also the Foley Park is right behind it and it’s so nice. We had more fun in the park than the train museum. Overall I give them 5 stars because it’s free and educational and the location is nice since it’s located in Foley Park.
A great place to soak up a bit of history. Also excellent for any kids who are into trains. All parts of the museum, displays and rides are free.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Little cute museum , i loved it, also its history is impressive, in Foley you can visit this museum with your kids, but check the days the model train exhibition is open because when we were there it wasn’t open so missed it…
Well worth the hr drive from Pensacola. They have a lovely playground train for the kiddos that is super fun. A really well restored caboose you can go in and touch everything. As well as 2 box cars. There is diesel engine you can take a look at. That poor thing needs some new glass windows, some one has been unkind and broken them. BUT there is a nice platform you can walk up on to see the insides. They also have a cool looking model train area but it's only open Tues, Thur, and Sat so we will have to come back later. The museum itself is small but really well put together. It's all in the old depot. There is also accessible bathrooms when the museum is open. Definitely a good free place to stop, stretch your legs, and take in some cool train stuff.
Great place if you move trains! People of all ages can come here for FREE and check out model trains and real life size trains.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Awesome for little kids. Our group had kids between 2-6 and they all loved it. The train ride 12 minutes was fabulous. There's a little kid train you can climb on that was a hit as well. We walked in/around the big train cars too. We spent about 20 minutes admiring the model trains, which were even interesting for adults. They've got a scavenger hunt kid and adult versions for you to find things in the model train set up. We had a picnic in the park and looked at the little Christmas village that's set up near the big Christmas tree in the park. There's a museum space also that features the history of the Foley train station and history of the town. We spent about 1.5-2 hours there and it was perfect.
My family and I were in town visiting and stopped by on a Monday to see the train display. Sadly, we were unable to see it because the display isn't open on Mondays. So we just walked around outside and looked at the train carts.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Great outing with grandchildren! The model railroad room is awesome, the attendant was great! Interactive with a finders page supplied with a pencil! Outdoor train wasn't running due to excessive heat....can't blame them for mother nature! Very much enjoyed!
Great museum. Friendly, fun & knowledgeable staff. Great stop for a rainy day activity or anytime!
Just riding through and decided to stop. It was an amazing little adventure. You can enter the trains and there is a building set up with train tracks. The history is captivating and the workers or volunteers love to tell you anything that you would want to know.
