Matt Savage is the chef, mastermind, and brains of Food Box. After graduating culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu and working as a grill cook under many talented chefs in Athens, GA, Matt craved his own culinary freedom. He bought an old Chevy box truck with the intention of transforming it into a food truck.
After two years of transforming the truck and working on his cousin's farm, Food Box was born.
Soon after Food Box was completed, Matt discovered that Athens was not the most food truck friendly city, so he looked to Charleston. The people of Charleston eased his moving jitters with the amount of kindness you only read about. He instantly felt welcomed and is so excited to share his food with you!
