Mission - To serve as a Christ-like ministry to meet the basic needs of the hungry and homeless in Kershaw County. SC.

Description

In Kershaw County, thousands wake up hungry in the morning and go to bed hungry at night. That number is growing, too, as more people lose their jobs, are forced out of their homes, or face tough, often painful decisions – like whether to pay the power bill or put food on the table. But let us not forget: These are our neighbors, and they need our help, and they need it now more than ever. By supporting Food for the Soul, you can provide the resources necessary to ensure that no one, at no time, ever goes hungry in our community.

They kicked me and my girlfriend out a day after they had accepted us because I just got over having Covid and I had tested positive and they told me to go to the hospital to get checked out and the doctors said I wasn’t contagious. Now I told them all of that and they let us stay but next shift of staff had said we couldn’t stay so now me and my girl are back on the streets with nowhere to go.
update ms Tina helped me through my situation including another woman there I felt I wasn't treated the same soon as my kids left from there and talking to Ms Tina she will help through anything helped me n my husband get marriage counseling I just love her she tried her best to help me but things are out of her control but she still tried and never gave up .
Called, emailed three times AND messaged on Facebook asking if our family can help on Thanksgiving to pass out food and nothing, no call or email back to even say no thanks or if they were even doing anything at all for Thanksgiving all together. Guess they were all good on help?
My parents were taken from Washington state clear to Lugoff,S where they were left and abandoned living in their car during the hot heat after three weeks they ended up at this homeless shelter. I drove from Washington state clear to Lugoff to see my parents and the staff was made aware I was coming. The day I arrived and go to the shelter to talk to and check on my parents my wife and I are met by law enforcement asking if we were there to see our family their name we replied yes then we are told that head people of food for the soul have officially criminaly tresspassed us before we even set foot there. Glad someone got our side of the story before they passed judgement. Great southern hospitality.

Chef Joe is the best cook ‍ in Camden and the entire Kershaw County area and his assistant, Laurie is his sous ‍ chef as well standing by his side preparing luscious meals for us the homeless ones and staff! Thx guys!
I think I see something about the shelter I'm not faulting the staff and I'm not faulting the homeless people everybody in the state of South Carolina have problem this shelter welcome outsiders but they don't keep them and their to help them to get on their feet you must be a resident in Kershaw county get help I'm not talking bad about it I've been there done that and the staff there don't meet my need but I tell anyone about this shelter they give you free clothes free meal that's breakfast and lunch only if you don't stay there they will kick you out back on the street you just passing through that's it that need to change if a person is homeless and need help they need to help these people and get them back on their feet and that is my opinion
Never a dull moment at Food For The Soul
The person who answered the phone completely told me and my family a big lie. Came 2 hours away just to be told we couldnt recieve help.
Kershaw counties only fulls service food bank and family shelter. It’s a gem in the crown of Camden SC, a all American City. It’s a joy to volunteer and contribute to what makes Kershaw county a great place to live.
