We are part of the Foodtown supermarket cooperative, which is a group of over 65 stores, sharing our buying power to bring you the lowest possible prices. Different families own different stores throughout the New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania region.
We are a family- run business, owned and operated by the Katz family. We have been in the grocery store business since 1956 when Paul Katz opened his first supermarket in the Bronx (on 204th Street). His son Sydney joined him in 1962 and grandsons Daniel and Noah joined in the late 1980’s. Today, along with our great associates, we operate 13 supermarkets in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, The Bronx, Putnam, Dutchess, and Delaware counties.
We love the grocery business. Our ultimate goal is to offer you a great, friendly, clean, warm place to shop. We have all the advantages of a big chain with competitive prices (being part of the larger cooperative) plus the benefits of being a family run business. We must add that we are very thankful of all our associates who work so hard and do a great job stocking our stores and taking care of you, our customers. We could never do it without them !! Thank you to all our associates !!
We have competitive prices. We would like you to know that we make sure that we have competitive prices with all the major supermarkets. We have all the practices in place in our company to make sure we have competitive prices. We have people that go to all our competitors, big chain stores and small stores, and check the “market basket” of items; the top 800 or so selling items across all stores. We check those prices and make sure that we are always competitive.
Last but not least, WE THANK YOU !! We are so appreciative of all our customers for their business. We may not be perfect but please, let us know anything we can do to improve your shopping experience. If there is an item you would like us to carry or if you have a question about anything, please let us know. We love our customers that talk to us…that’s how we get better.
