Lanier Christian Academy Jamaica Ministry Events for 2018-2019
In the fall of 2009 Heritage Academy began a partnership with American Caribbean Experience, known as ACE. Students and faculty committed to sponsor ten children. Through monthly love offerings we were able to help provide school uniforms, food, personalized tutoring, backpacks, school supplies, and in-home visits.
In the spring of 2010 Heritage Academy commissioned fifteen high school students under the leadership of former campus pastor Courtney Simmons and his wife, Emily to serve with ACE in Jamaica. Our team was able to minister in several different areas including construction, the infirmary, and one of the micro-business farms. The highlight of the trip was spending time with our sponsored children!
Each year, Heritage has sent teams of students, alumni, and leaders to serve for a week in May and we’ve sponsored up to 14 children. Every year our team members go to serve and minister to the people of Jamaica. Every year these same team members come back amazed that it was, in fact, they who were ministered to. Their lives were changed!
We have also had the opportunity to give beyond our monthly love offerings to help provide needs such as bunk beds, mattresses, lighting for homes, open-heart surgery for an ACE staff member, and Christmas & birthday gifts!
In January 2016, Heritage Academy and North Georgia Christian School unified to form Lanier Christian Academy. We will continue as LCA Jamaica Ministries.
It has been a privilege to partner with ACE, as Heritage Academy. We are excited to continue as Lanier Christian Academy. ACE's ministry is having a powerful impact in Jamaica. For more information about ACE, visit their website at www.acexperience.org.
