A nice place. Bowling lanes looked clean and in good repair. Scoring computer was easy to use. A few arcade machines.None terribly old. Diner and Bar too. Good quality and good value. Some items from menu can be ordered to be served at the bowling lanes. Staff all pleasant and friendly. Special mention for Katie who served everybody with a massive smile at all times.
Went here last night, great bowling venue, would be a five star but my booking time was slightly different to my online booked time was meant to be and the arcades lack space. The place was clean, tidy and well presented. When we had a lane error it was dealt with quickly by staff
I first came to Hollywood Bowl a couple of months ago on an evening out with my partner. The system of topping up credits and saving tickets on your card has meant that we can go back all the time, even just for short amounts of time without it being a waste. Although to have the ability to go here and not be there long, or spend too much money is near on impossible. The atmosphere and super friendly staff just entice you and all you know is fun and forget about saving money. One staff member really stood out to us, engaging in smiley conversation for the 2 nights we went in a row oops. Will be going back a lot more and I recommend you do the same!!!
Had the vip side of bowling which was good your own corner space that you can enjoy in private , service was little slow maybe because it was busy , the food such as burgers and sharing snacks can do with a flavour and maybe not looking like a child plate meal same as the amount of fries, Also would advice for the bar side that they look and wash their wine glass before surviving it out as its not the first time i been passed a drink with lipstick print on them which they done another drink and gave another glass once I pointed it out but for it to happen second time was just too much . Other then that it's a nice little spot for kids and adult to enjoy now and then.
Bowling and arcade fun...been open only a few years so everything is still new and works as expected. Best to book ahead just in case, can get busy during the holidays. All in all a good day out with friends and family
I booked 1 game of bowling and food and drink package for My Son Birthday Party yesterday and it was very expensive. It went so well at the start the bowling had no problems but once we started to look for a table to eat our food there was no tables available to eat and we had payed for the food and drink package and we had thought that they had reserved tables for people who have payed for the food and drink package it was eventually resolved by the manger when I told him I want refund if we don’t have a table to eat our food. when My we ordered our food we had a limited choice of food we could not have the cheese and bacon burger as we would have to pay extra and we only had one drink part of the package in Five guys upstairs you can have a bottomless soft drink and a huge burger for the price we had to pay and when my son friends had ordered their meals the burgers was so small for an adult meal portion it was like a child portion and the burgers were overdone and it tasted like the frozen burgers from Birds Eye and was so overdone and the tomatoes in burgers were like doorstops, the chips on the side were so cold I expect it was because they left on the side for ages as we had to wait 1 hour for the food and wait 30 minutes for the drinks and all of this costed £7.99 per person for the food and drink package also no cutlery was provided, this is definitely not worth the price and reason for all the problems we had yesterday and this is because there is not enough staff needed to cope with the capacity and the staff are so rude because they want your money but don’t provide a good service for the price you pay I would not recommend going to Hollywood Bowls in Southampton go to Hollywood Bowls in Portsmouth much better customer service and you can bring your own food.
Went bowling with partner and daughter, first time I have been here, extremely impressed with the online booking. Once arrived there was a one person on the front desk, as it became quite busy, the staff member was actually very fast working, infact so efficient, that the queue was gone in under 5mins, once signed in, we waited an 1 hour playing the arcade machines, unfortunately one of the ticket counting machines stopped working, we went back to the same guy, and straight away rectified the situation. Then we went to the bar for drinks, the Carling on tap wasn't to my taste, I went to the bar and asked if the barrel needed to be changed, again same guy, changed my drink with no questions asked. I was so impressed with the staff member, not only did he provide the best professional service, he was everywhere helping colleagues as as well as the public, massive thanks Phil, really appreciate all your efforts and see you all soon! Definitely recommend this place for a family trip!
Great place, not many offers for bowling mind but really enjoyed it. Staff were lovely and really helpful. Shame I didn't play that well and got beat by my 7 year old.
The prices here are extortionate, especially if you want to go after works hours. I'd recommend "Tenpin Bowling Southampton" instead, has the exact same layout and everything, but had two games for only £10! And there's free parking.
Nice and up to date place. Rating 3 stars because it was horrendously busy. We paid to bowl in advance and had to join a 20 person queue to be checked in. Also very loud. The bowling lanes are not safe for personal belongings. Anyone from the street can walk behind you without you knowing, the lanes aren't private booths, more like open booths.
