Beautiful park!!! Spacious, excellent managed, friendly staff & residents...COULD NOT ask for a nicer experience, nor a better value!
I grew up here every summer for years. Fort Firelands will always hold a special place in my heart. Although PJ's Steakhouse is gone you can still stop by at the world famous flea market on the weekends! This park has a nice clean pool, a classic playground with metal carousel, and a free mini golf course. Multiple boat docks and many fishing spots on the lake.
If we could rate them a ZERO star we would! Was there for many years. Used to be great! But now… Watched the park decline year after year after year to a now zero. It’s actually very sad too as we used to really care about the place and enjoy it fully. Lots of people did MANY YEARS AGO! But now… Horrible park management but especially ownership. There are zero tenants in front stores. Zero opening of the fort for fun events or seemingly near zero maintenance of it anymore. Near zero lights on in the main parking lot at night. Near zero bolts left in the playground merry go round. Zero good ways to play on the basketball court as concrete so bad and cracked so bad. Zero on electrical safety. Broken light poles; broken outlets; open wires out at places; zero care by the city about any of this either. Zero boats in the docks. Near zero happy long term truly happy campers. Zero talk about the owners or you’ll get kicked out. Zero maintenance of the docks. Near zero good or safe ways to boat in the water behind the park. About zero dollars put into real park improvements unless they have to it seems or beautification. Near zero care by the owners about the park in any positive way anymore. Near zero care about tenants that care about the place. Or used to anyway. Zero care about you! But… Hey wait… they do get a FIVE on this: I think now there are nearly… FIVE supports holding up the fort walls to keep them from falling over. Think we’re kidding… book a weekend or a season if you get approved and boy do we have stories on this! there for yourself. Number of times you’ll be back: ZERO if you really look around, pay attention and get to meet the owners and ask people how they run and feel about the place. Need photos to prove much of this… we got them! Just ask.
Love this place, I've been going here since I was born. Nice and calm, awesome staff
Don't do it. Terrible management. Don't care about the seasonals at all. No communication. Playground needs updated badly, B-Ball court is crooked cracked cement. Docks aren't able to be used, even if the water was deep enough, they are plain dangerous!! Go somewhere else.
We are completing our 2nd season at Fort Firelands and plan to continue returning. We love the area and everything it has to offer. We also really appreciate that the park is well maintained, has rules to keep it looking nice & is fairly laid back & not noisy. We love spending our summer weekends here!
Don't waste your time or money!! We stayed for a 3-day weekend and ended up cutting the trip short a night just to get out of here. The seasonal site next to us was a complete EYE SORE and the guests insisted on throwing a football 12 inches from the side of our motorhome. They hit the motorhome multiple times causing damage and were crawling underneath it to retrieve the football, even after being asked to stop. While the front office was friendly, it did not make up for the sites being poorly maintained and the rowdy seasonal guests.
We had a hard time finding a tent camping spot and they figured out a location for us. They made the extra effort to help. The service was excellent. The shower house and laundry was very nice and clean. We did not swim but the pool looked very nice. Highly recommend.
Great place! Well taken care of and security is fantastic. Have stayed for 2 years and could not imagine a better place. Great location too.
Sad that you try to git a seasonal spot but you are told your camper is to old cause it's not 10 year old or newer but an they where just rude on the phone they say yes there is a spot but when u say the year that say no spots
