I wish I would have had more time to walk around and read all of the informational stands that were placed throughout the grounds. It is definitely an eye-opener. Make sure you take plenty of time to walk around the grounds.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
A great place to learn some Fort Spokane history, it had a video that was very interesting.

Visitor Center was closed when I visited, but the walking trails around the fort were a great break from the road.Visited onWeekday
When I was here the visitor center was closed, but the trails around the fort are still very enjoyable and the plaques give lots of information about how this place used to be.
Happened on this place by accident while driving south from Kettle Falls. A nice piece of NW history located along a scenic area.
5 stars for showing the history intentionally and accurately! Go to the museum and learn about some of our wicked history. One should not fear learning about history, but rather, should embrace it to ensure we do better in the future. This museum was eye-opening on multiple levels and I encourage everyone to go and see what we cannot go back to. From dams destroying salmon populations to boarding schools destroying culture and abusing children, this museum shows it all in a clear and concise manner that gets the point across. Go, learn, and help humans do better in the future. Literally one of the most memorable museums I have ever been to.
We drove an hour or so from Spokane to see this place and get our passport stamps, only to find the it was closed for the season. It was pretty, but I really wish they would update their hours during the winter
Excellent place to visit even for a day trip. There is a campground nearby with a couple of walking trails leading to the fort. There is an interpretative trail with placards that have original photos and descriptions. Allow a minimum of a couple of hours to tour the museum and grounds. A short walk down the hill is a day use area with tables, BBQ's, restrooms, and a swim beach. Up the hill from the fort is a steep hiking trail that offers spectacular views of the fort, river, and surrounding area.
Cool bit of Washington state history, you should visit if you are in the area. Walk around and check out the visitor center, the old barn, and what remains of some of the other buildings. This place is a big open space and there is a decent chance of seeing a deer. Take a short hike up the bluff for a good view. There is also a park/swimming area on the river, and this place is free! Just wish more of the building were still standing from the frontier times. Oh and there is camping, but that does cost money. There are a couple small fishing docks by the campground, and I think they have a boat launch.
