Fort Winnebago is a town in Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 855 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Anacker is located in the town.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.0 square miles (88.0 km²), of which, 33.5 square miles (86.7 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²) of it (1.41%) is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 855 people, 325 households, and 259 families residing in the town. The population density was 25.5 people per square mile (9.9/km²). There were 343 housing units at an average density of 10.2 per square mile (4.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.83% White, 0.12% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.23% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.47% of the population.There were 325 households out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.8% were married couples living together, 5.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 2.92.
