The hotel itself isn't bad and if you stayed you will be fine. My lower rating is more so it didn't feel the vibe or feeling of the W brand. The hip trendy vibe is only partially there in the lobby. The rooms are pretty small for a W as well, they are nice just small. Since this is a downtown hotel also expect your view to be looking into another building and vice versa. So if that not your thing, definitely not a right fit. The continental breakfast was very disappointing. It was like a fruit cup and plastic wrap danish taste from the local 7-11.
The hotel needs a refresh on their rooms, towels, etc. The pillows were too soft, my head just sank in, so it was like I didn't even have one. The staff was great & you can't beat the location. Overall it's a nice hotel but I was expecting more for the money I paid.
Great stay! Nice decor and wonderful service! The room had a very nice bathroom, but the actual room was quite small. I wasn’t expecting how small it was. It had a great lounge, wonderful observatory on top, and a great breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel. Rooms: Rooms were small but had very nice decor and color. Walkability: Close to coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. Food & drinks: Great food at the Keys at Foshay!
Overall, I quite liked the Foshay when I stayed here a few years ago. I really liked the Art Deco influenced decor of my room, the posh lounges, and the free observation deck with great views of downtown Minneapolis. However, though the hotel says its pet-friendly, it wasn't as much as I'd hoped. There's no grass anywhere near the hotel in the city, and I was never offered any "custom W Hotel dog beds and dishes".
In town for the National Bar Association annual convention. We had a blast!! Michelle was very kind and helpful. Asst. Manager Rahgeme Snider was absolutely amazing!! Going ABOVE and BEYOND day after day! He is an excellent manager and has a very bright future because he raise the bar for excellence in service and hospitality. Rooms: We loved the Extreme Wow suite! It was like having an apartment! The tub was amazing! Nearby activities: Lots of cool sites. Loved Target Field and the building with the Prince mural. Walkability: It was really nice being so close to great restaurants and Target!
The W Minneapolis used to be the Foshay Tower. The rooms are very nice. We had a room on the upper floor. All l can say is WOW about the room. Total luxury! The staff went beyond to help us out. The W Minneapolis has an observation floor. Its only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We stayed on a Tuesday. We will be coming back. The W Minneapolis is the BEST hotel we have stayed at ever! Rooms: The room we had took our breath away. The room was total luxury. All l can say is WOW! ! Safety: My friend and l felt totally safe walking around. Food & drinks: We walked around in downtown Minneapolis before we checked in. My friend saw a restaurant name Hells Kitchen. We went there for dinner. Its very unique in every way. The food was served damn quick. I would not doubt if we had to wait 5 minutes. Served hot and delicious. The server, Joaquin was awesome! Please go to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
I had a quick 14 hour stay in Minneapolis and wanted something close to the highway and comfortable enough to check in late at night downtown. Doesn't have the charm of an autograph collection but it's a beautiful building with spacious rooms. *You can park on the street after 10pm for free. *Observation deck is closed *Elite Breakfast is served to your room complimentary for Platinum members *Super friendly and welcoming staff
This hotel is absolutely DISGUSTING. We booked two rooms for a girls weekend and both were absolutely vile. Stains everywhere, food left in the room from previous visitors and dirty clothes shoved in corners. See photo below. When we tried to get assistance from management they literally LAUGHED in our faces and offered no help or solution. I can’t believe they would charge $300 a night for something so revolting. We have to sleep in this hell hole tonight until we can find another hotel tomorrow.
Very cool hotel in an old historic building that was once the tallest in the midwest. I got upgraded to a suite and the room was awesome! Very comfortable bed and very friendly staff. There are 2 bars in the building, one being on tue 27th floor with great cocktails. There are also 2 restaurants and the smell of Mannys steaks fills everywhere. Location is pretty good, lots of walkable places near by. Would definitely stay here again. Food & drinks: Food and drinks in the hotel are pretty high end, but very good. Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance Noteworthy details: Foshay building is a historic building. On the 30th floor there is a little museum about the building and above that there is an observation deck unfortunately closed when I was there
The customer service here is spectacular! Nicole at the front desk was incredibly helpful and absolutely deserves some recognition for the job she’s doing!! Great work guys!Rooms: 5/5
