“ Fostering Hope through Outdoor Adventures for life-challenged youth”
About Tony
The Tony Semple Foundation for Hope was established
by former Detroit Lions player, Tony Semple, we changed our name to "Foundation For Hope Outdoor Adventures," in 2013. The mission
is carried out with the same life-blood intensity, heart and compassion that Tony played with for nine years in the NFL.
During college, Tony worked with St. Jude foundation
of Memphis, Tennessee. While playing professional
football, he was one of the Lions’ most active community
relations spokesmen in the Detroit-area, frequently
speaking at D.A.R.E. events. For seven years, he teamed
up with officers from the Fraternal Order of Police
Lodge 112 to put on “Shop With a Cop”, a program
that helps children in need shop for the holidays.
Tony has grown to love the outdoors, hunting and
fishing because of the sense of peace and rejuvenation
they provide. This has led him to provide this experience
to young people who may not otherwise have the
chance to experience this peace and rejuvenation.
Our mission
Our mission is to facilitate inspiring, meaningful outdoor experiences for youth who suffer life-threatening medical conditions. We value, promote and preserve the heritage
of the “Outdoor Sportsman.”
Many wish-granting foundations are unable to include
certain outdoor activities in their offerings. The Tony Semple Foundation for Hope seeks to fulfill these outdoor dreams
for children.
