The FHPOA is the collective bargaining unit of the Officers of the Fountain Hill Police Department.
The FHPOA is a labor organization, which engages in contract negotiations periodically for the working conditions of the police force. Many people may not be aware, but police officers have limited constitutional rights as compared to normal citizens, because of their employment as police officers. Officers can be disciplined for behavior on or off-duty, are required to maintain a certain level of fitness, dress and appearance standards, and many other rules, which do not apply to private or other public sector jobs. Additionally, police officers cannot strike unlike other labor organizations. PA Act 111 gives officers the right to collectively bargain with municipalities to ensure they are compensated for the job they do, and these limited constitutional privileges. In addition, the Association will take care of the families in the event an officer makes the ultimate sacrifice or is injured in the line of duty. For more info, please contact the association.
To ensure officers of the Fountain Hill Police Department are provided with safe working conditions, which in turn will allow us to provided high quality police services to the citizens we serve.
