Watched the majority of the bar just be ignored by the 2 bartenders. and neither were busy other than keeping their backs turned to everyone. Tacos were pretty good. Occasionally the staff would turn around and quickly check on a select few and then would go back to ignoring everyone else. I watched multiple people come and go that never even got served. This was early evening too so wasn't crowded....the lack of people there seems likely due to the poor service. Possibly the dated decor and fact they play cartoons on the one TV could also be what turns people off about this place. Definitely an 'I do not recommend' from my take on the whole experience. Parking: Have to park blocks away down some side streets that seem like they could get pretty sketchy at nighttime.
I love the Four Quarter. They usually have a nice crowd and great music. The bar tenders are friendly. I love their patio. This is definitely a place to hit while you are in town. Fun place to hang out. Great food! Definitely recommend going!Recommended dishesSmoked Pulled Pork Nachos
We came for the food, then stayed for the live band! This location has a real New Orleans feel. Great crowd too!Food: 5/5
Music was amazing and can’t give the band enough kudos. They have great chemistry on stage. The pasta was swimming in pasta water and oil so it was more of a oil soup with noodles in it. The bread was really good. The bartenders were incredibly rude. Especially the blonde woman. We were ignored for the first 20 minutes we were there and then it was just too much for her to make drinks… at a bar… unfortunately we won’t be back. Hopefully the band plays somewhere else so we can support them more in the future!
This place is so good. First off get the smoked pecans just TRUST ME. Someone else at my table got them and I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing. I went here expecting standard bar food and I was so so wrong. I got the French Quarter pasta and my husband got the burger. My pasta was flavorful and spicy without being so hot that it detracted from the flavors. His burger was a PERFECT dairy-bar type griddle burger. Oh man it was so good. The ONLY negative is that they allow people to smoke in there. It wasn't super smokey but still a little gross. I get that it's a bar and to be expected but be aware of that. I'll be back because I want to try the whole menu.
This is a wonderful venue for any time. The food is excellent. The service is fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. The variety of spirits is pretty wide from well to high end calls like Yamasaki Whiskey. Tap, bottle, and canned beer options. Smoking outside on the patio. Great place to catch shows from local acts to national touring groups. From the dive bar crowd to the chamber of commerce you're going to find this place is for you!
I live East of Rose City in NLR and consider this one of my neighborhood bars among Fassler Hall and Bar Louie all of which have live music and outdoor seating. I've enjoyed to talking to people here at the bar, on the floor during a show and out back while smoking an occasional cigarette. It also has a cool upstairs with shuffleboard and a good view of downstairs. It's cool that there is a sound engineer who does a good job of getting the sound right with a digital sound board tablet. The bartenders and staff are friendly including the door person. The guests are diverse in age and other aspects which is healthy. Of course the Argenta neighborhood is historic and it's easy to take the streetcar between the Little Rock entertainment district on the other side of the Arkansas River. The food is great and reasonable. I appreciate the affordable PBR tallboys and the last meal I ate here was the pulled pork nachos which were good. The barstools swivel and have backs that allow you to lean back and even though I was on the corner with a lot of traffic, it was never bumped by people and it's comfortable enough tolerating those who walk up to order between the barstools. TV's are over the bar and it's usually playing sports highlights or The Simpsons. The architecture is early 20th century.
Not a place I’d recommend. Weren’t many people there but enough sitting at the bar that it was obvious bad service when the bartenders just kept their backs turned to everyone. Tacos were pretty good. Odd decor and the one TV had a cartoon playing Food: 4/5
There to see a band I follow. Cool old place in old revitalized downtown. Long and narrow with an upstairs area for more tables. Not the best for music but they make it work. No waitstaff so you make trips to the bar, but they are quick and have good pours of booze. Enjoy!
It helps that they serve my current favorite beer on tap Mango Cart but this place is a gem. The food is really good and they regularly have some creative specials. Huge shout-out to the kitchen staff.
