Foxcroft Academy is an independent day and boarding school serving approximately 460 students from both Maine and the world abroad.
Established as a private secondary school on January 30, 1823, Foxcroft Academy has a storied history and has stood the test of time. It is also a school very much on the rise, and colleges around the nation have taken notice, as students from the Classes of 2015-2017 received acceptance letters from 66 schools ranked in the top 100 of the 2017 U.S. News and World Report’s college rankings.
Foxcroft Academy’s ever-expanding curriculum offers something for everyone and helps students discover what they’re passionate about. FA’s course guide includes 21 accredited Advanced Placement courses, 15 math and science offerings, 22 electives in the Humanities, 25 Visual and Performing Arts course, 24 offerings in Technical Education, four World Language tracks, and a vibrant ESL program. FA also understands that technology drives today’s educational landscape and became the first high school in Maine to implement a 1-to-1 iPad Initiative in 2011

Foxcroft Academy has opened its doors to the world and become a global community. Within the past five years, FA has welcomed students from Brazil, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
Foxcroft Academy has a proud athletic tradition and its teams are currently enjoying an unprecedented run of success, capturing 13 state championships in the past decade.
Foxcroft Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the Independent School Association of Northern New England, the College Board, and the National Association of Independent Schools.
The town of Dover-Foxcroft (population 4,300) is about 80 miles from the Bar Harbor, 125 miles from Portland, and 225 miles from Boston.
