Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. The ER was absolutely horrible. My husband and I both went in and were horribly ill literally so dehydrated. They did absolutely nothing for us. When I reported it to patient advocacy instead of apologizing for what went on way too long to type out they sent me a letter with a narcissistic type of response. Definitely reporting to the state. So much medical negligence. They do not care about you.
I want to express my gratitude to all the staff of the hospital who were involved in the recovery of my mother! We came to the US from Ukraine, after the start of the war. And we had a misfortune, my mother fell and broke her femoral neck. We spent 1.5 months in the hospital. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, nurses aid, for the warm attitude and care. Thank you Nina for your attention, support and your kind heart . God Bless America
I had the best experience at this hospital and I will come here from this point forward for any emergencies. The nurses, doctors, and surgeons I dealt with were so kind and caring, they took care of my problem way faster than I ever would have thought. I came into the ER on 12/20 with severe abdomen pain to the point of vomiting. I was taken back right away and put in a room. They were quick about getting testing done and helping me with my pain. We had initially thought it was my hiatal hernia causing me pain, but my surgeon found that my gallbladder was bad. So I had it removed and my hernia fixed on 12/22. The procedure went great and I’m feeling good after. Hoping to go home today on 12/23 in time for Christmas. I just want to point out Dr Mussman my surgeon, NP Wendy and Dr Golding, Dr Jestok/NP Jen V, my transporter Gordana, my nurse Maricruz, my aide Marissa, and a huge shout out to my nurse Heather best nurse ever on the 3rd floor. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be better right now and I’d have suffered over Christmas. The most caring, kind, and informative group of people I’ve ever dealt with. Thank you all so much, you’re all amazing!
My husband was very very sick last week on the 12th my daughter and I took him to the ER. The team that was duty at 9:15am were fantastic they worked on him and watched him very closely. They kept him and by 1:00 we were in a room already. He was on the 3rd floor and the nurses that were on duty were also caring and sweet and watched over him 24/7.He was in the hospital till the 16th. We both r very pleased with the staff at St.Anthonys a
FROM 7:40am to right now 645pm, my mom is still in the ER waiting for a room. Yes, alot of people are sick, but still that does not excuse the non caring! I heard another patient complain and a nurse said what am I suppose to do with alot of old people showing up! That was not nice or work ethic! I pray to God my mom gets well and I will never come back here again! JMO AND I'M STICKING TO IT!!
I have spent three weeks here. I arrived by ambulance unable to walk or use anything on my right side. The care I received from my doctor, nurses and the rehabilitation techs made the difference in my recovery. I am leaving today and I am able to walk something I did not think I would ever do again. They set me up with outpatient therapy so I can continue to get better and stronger every day. If you’re looking for Rehab facility for yourself or your loved ones I would definitely trust this facility. A year later I still have the same feeling about the crown point facility, however Franciscan seems to have some systemic problems from that PACE program to lack of the ability to retain doctors or even follow up.
My last visit was in the ER. Mind you I had been there previously 5 times for the same issues— chest pain, trouble breathing, palpitations, heart rates of 140+ and a blood pressure of 145/119. Upon getting to the triage room I let the nurse know that I came back in that night to be checked out because my blood pressure was scary high and I was experiencing the chest pain and high heart rates again. While waiting in the room for the EKG that by the way, I was never given I could hear the nurse outside “ go figure out what you’re doing with room 17, this is getting ridiculous now” about 10 minutes later nurse practitioner Greg walks in and says he’s going to give me a medication to calm me down hydroxyzine, which I later find out is used as a sedative. After that medicine kicked in they sent me home. While still having chest pain. Not once did they recheck the blood pressure, or do the ekg. I met with a dr yesterday, not affiliated with Franciscan, who was able to tell me that I am most likely dealing with long COVID and that there is very possibly tears on my heart. All of which these doctors one failed to hear me out on and two refused to do any testing for. If you’re bringing your loved ones here, don’t. Hobart is a way better hospital who will actually listen and take the time to do something no matter how busy they are. I’ve always chosen Franciscan, been there since I was young. But it’s not the same anymore and they lack compassion. Don’t like feeling like a number….
Went yesterday, 8-6-22 for outpatient lab work. Walked in and there is a small desk before going in the doors for labs and there sitting an employee doing a crossword puzzle book and when I left, she was still doing the puzzle book. She told me she was allowed to do it, really!!! She gets paid to do this, wow. What a disappointment for representing this hospital seeing this. She should be fired for this!!!
I just had a procedure done here and I’m not going to lie, it was a very uncomfortable procedure. No anesthetic was used. Typical for women's healthcare anyways. But the doctor the performed the procedure was so emotionless, disregarded how I felt and my pain. He didn’t even stick around to make sure I was ok. I was laying on the table in shock and holding back tears while he got up and ran out of the room as quick as he could. The nurse/radiologist, who was young, she was a sweetheart, helped me and explained everything best she could. But I was just so confused and in shock. I’m only 20. I knew the procedure would be somewhat painful. I tried to mentally prepare myself for it. But there was no point in that entire time where I felt comfortable or understood. I was crying and grabbing the table and no one said it was ok or stopped to explain what was going on. No breaks. I was rushed through it like there was no time to waste. I hurt more than I ever have before, and I’ve had surgeries and chronic pain. And I don’t think the procedure would have been as bad if they had made it more comfortable. People describe it as mild pain. Not severe. I would never do that again.
Ive been going to this hospital literally since the day I was born and I had always received good care until recently. The ER staff are usually always amazing and take great care of all of us when we come in however in light of recent events my family has decided to file a lawsuit against this hospital because the man I love and the father of my children has been here twice in 2 weeks and both times they were in such a rush to get him out of the hospital they didn't even take time properly diagnose him and make sure that he was healthy again before he was released. I am so upset that now the same issue he has been having for 2 weeks is back and the hospital has not done anything to fix it. You're staff has become careless since covid began and they are not doing the things they should be doing to properly care for their patients. As someone who works in the medical field I get that covid has been a learning experience for all of us, but that's no excuse to ignore your duties as a nurse/doctor to the people you care for.
