Originally formed in 1968 to staff the Bavarian Festival, The Frankenmuth Police Departments Mounted Unit was disbanded in the Mid 1990's. In it's place a Reserve Unit was formed. The Reserve Unit no longer rides on horses it continues to staff the numerous festivals that the City of Frankenmuth hosts each year.
The mission of the Frankenmuth Police Department's Reserve Unit is to serve the community and guests of Frankenmuth with honesty, integrity, and accountability.
