Franklin Central High School, colloquially known as FC, is a public four-year high school in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is the only high school under the responsibility of the Franklin Township Community School Corporation.HistoryFranklin Central High School is named after Founding Father and polymath, Benjamin Franklin. Established in 1960, succeeding Franklin Township High School. The current school building was constructed during 1975 and 1976. Classes at the current building began in September 1976. The school underwent construction and renovation in 1990 and 2003. The Freshmen Academy, an addition to the main building, opened in the fall of 2009.DemographicsIn the 2010-11 school year, Franklin Central High School had 2,581 students enrolled. Enrollment consisted of 701 Freshman, 689 Sophomores, 620 Juniors and 571 Seniors. Enrollment by ethnicity consisted of 2,095 (81.2%) White students, 175 (4.8%) African American students, 125 (4.8%) Hispanic students, 102 (4.0%) Multiracial students, 76 (2.9%) Asian students, and 6 (0.2%) American Indian students.
