To provide excellent, cost effective ,safe, dependable, courteous, and clean transportation services through the Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA).
About the FRTA:
The Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) was established in 1978 with the provisions of Chapter 161B and is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Though not the biggest transit authority in Massachusetts, the FRTA covers the largest (1121.08 square miles) and the most rural geographical area of any of the 15 regional transit authorities in the State.
The FRTA currently serves 40 communities throughout Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden and Worcester Counties spanning from southern borders of Vermont and New Hampshire down to the northern border of Connecticut.
General Information about the FRTA:
The FRTA provides six (6) fixed bus routes from Greenfield (Monday through Friday) going to Orange, Montague, Northampton, Amherst, Charlemont and points in between. Demand Response is provided Monday through Friday. Schedules vary depending on where you reside.
