An all-volunteer department operating out of two stations and serving the town of Frankton and surrounding areas in Madison County, Indiana.
The department is made up of 26 members and protects an area of 72 square miles with a population of about 9,225. Our coverage area includes all of the Town of Frankton, Lafayette Township and the northern half of Jackson Township in Madison County, including the incorporated areas of Linwood and Perkinsville. This area includes four State Highways: State Roads 9, 37, 128 and 13. The department averages 200 runs a year, with its numbers increasing every year.
The department operates out of two stations with a fleet of one battalion vehicle, two engines, one light rescue, one grass truck and three tankers. The department provides fire protection, fire prevention and education, automobile extrication, basic rescue, haz-mat operations and first response medical assist. The department’s Basic Life Support ambulance services are provided by the Frankton Volunteer Ambulance Service, which is a separate entity from the fire department, operating three BLS ambulances. Advanced Life Support services are primarily provided by the Alexandria Fire Department and Rural/Metro Ambulance.
