The Fraser Center exists to enrich the lives of all who come to us -individuals and families, military and civilian - providing professional counseling, community education and emotional support within a Christian environment.
The Fraser Center is a non-profit, non-denominational, faith-based counseling center that offers behavioral health services and education for individuals, families, and community organizations.
The center was established in 1986 and was the dream of local physician, Dr. Whit Fraser, who was a pioneer in holistic health care for Liberty county. Dr. Fraser believed in affordable, whole-person care for all, regardless of social standing, race, gender, or ability to pay.
To that end, he established the Mary Lou Fraser Foundation for Families, Inc. in memory of his late wife, Mary Lou. The Fraser Center and the Liberty County YMCA are the present-day manifestations of Dr. Fraser's vision.
The Fraser Center staff is a team of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals and educators who offer complete and confidential counseling, psychotherapy, and educational services in mental health, substance abuse, and marital and family areas.
The staff includes Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Pastoral Counselors, and Psychiatrists. This variety of specialists allows staff to address many diverse needs of individuals, couples, children, and families.
