Over the last 2 Decades Freddie Lee Jackson has enjoyed barbecuing for his family and friends. Fred's Famous Barbecue was the catchy nickname given to Fred's mouth watering BBQ by his brother-n-law over 15 years ago. As for the public, Fred's style of BBQ was first featured in his wife's soul food restaurant "Miss Ashley's" in 2003 which is famous for their legendary down home soul food menu.
Fred's dream has always been to one day share his amazing Q with the world. In May of 2012 Fred began to double his efforts by managing an entire crew of solar installers by day as the co-owner of Valley Solar Electric and working tirelessly on his dream pit by night. Some nights Fred would stay up working on his pit ‘til 1or 2 in the morning knowing that he would only get a few hours of sleep before heading off to work the next day, yet and still he would not let that stop him. What Fred has created so far is nothing short of amazing. The same kind of dedication and drive that Fred put into his pit is the same type of passion that he puts into every meal that he prepares and serves.
Working alongside Fred is his talented wife April, a.k.a. Sassy's, who’s soulful sides and deserts are a “Taste of Home”. Together they are a force to be reckoned with.
