Dedicated to providing youth ages 13-19 an opportunity to play organized baseball here in Frederick County beyond Little League
Founded in Frederick in 1954, the Babe Ruth Baseball League was originally created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond Little League and the age of 12. In time, a higher age division was added to accommodate 16-18 year-olds. Frederick City Babe Ruth consists of multiple teams representing these age groupings. If enrollment allows, our league has fielded a 14-U Team consisting of mostly beginner 13 year-old players and 14 year-olds better suited for this team than 15-U.
All of our teams are eligible for post-season play within the framework of the National Babe Ruth League Championship playoff structure. In addition, Frederick City Babe Ruth features the "Mustangs" team, a squad that plays in various local and regional tournaments after the regular season ends.
