Carroll Gautreaux is a lifelong resident of Opelousas, Louisiana. He was a carpenter for 44 years, but has been an artist all his life. He creates 3-D, handmade, one of a kind paintings depicting the Cajun lifestyle.
He began working with metal as a medium seven years ago because he had never seen anything like it and wanted a way to preserve the Cajun lifestyle and culture in his art. Carroll says, "I want people to feel something, whether it takes them back to a simpler time or brings back a memory from long ago."
