Cheap and promising, voila the food was almost inedible, wontons were just rough and doughy. Sesame chicken was also gristly and tasted almost like cinnamon.Food: 1/5
Amazing family owned buffet! Absolutely loved the food. Great selection and amazing price for all you can eat. The cream cheese wontons were to die for and so were their noodles. Although my fiance and I came in an hour to close, they made sure we had the best service! They greeted us and sat us at a table immediately and told us if we wanted something that has run out in the buffet area, they would be happy to fill it for us! They were also very quick to fill our drinks and take away our dirty plates. Amazing service! Was very very pleased. I also loved the atmosphere in general. Gave me nostalgia from growing up going to family owned buffets. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone.
We love fried rice. Maybe about a year ago my wife and I stopped getting food at Friendly Restaurant. Another restaurant in town made better tasting fried rice for a similar price, so we switched over to them and didn’t think about Friendly restaurant anymore. The other day, we felt like trying Friendly again. Very interesting points to make - first, the usual Chinese/Asian staff were not there - looked to be completely Westerners/Caucasian - not a big deal, happy to see that - friendly too - weren’t short with me like the Chinese staff usually are. You’ll almost never see that in places like Toronto. We ordered the Chopsuey which was perfect… We also ordered the fried rice… Big mistake… What happened to the fried rice, guys? It didn’t look or even taste like it was fried… It almost seemed… Baked? The food was still edible so we had our dinner and I’m not looking for any freebies - I’m not a Karen like that - just surprised at how strange the fried rice seemed. Pics attached. I would even say the fried rice today tasted worse than when we first switched away from Friendly restaurant. I’m a bit of an Asian cook myself, and I make fried rice at home sometimes - I know what fried rice, cooked in a hot wok looks like. This did not look like it had been in a wok. It looked baked… Anyway, we’ll probably switch away from Friendly again for another year and try it again to see if there are any changes/improvements to the quality of the fried rice. We aren’t putting Friendly down - just concerned - did you replace the cook in the kitchen? Why is the fried rice so bland and looking baked? Fried rice is supposed to have some light charring, shiny from the oil involved and a golden brown colour from the soy sauce used in the cooking process. 2 stars for the friendly staff and the good chopsuey… lost 3 stars for the strange tasting fried rice.
Horrible rice it’s white and no vegetables in it ordered last time and forgot my egg rolls and said next time you order we will give them to you try to order and women couldn’t understand me to say they owe me two egg rolls from last order but didn’t find my number to match apparently and could so frustrating I cancelled my 40 dollar order! Good way to gain business
I've never dined inside, we always order take out. Food is always hot and very tasty and portions are generous. Prices are also reasonable. Always a nice treatFood: 5/5
Didn't care for the egg rolls, or beef and broccoli. Shrimp wasn't deveined. Chicken balls were mostly dough. Noodles, lemon chicken, and skewers were good. Jello fish were adorable. Staff were friendly, if distracted.
Food was cold..half the buffet trays were empty..worse Chinese food I've ever had...at a rip off price of $17.99 per person...... Surprised the health department hasn't closed them down for their cold food temperature..but at least the ice cream was warm! Stay away folks...place is awful!Food: 1/5
Literally watch the owners son, who is approximately between maybe four and six, play with the food in the Buffet. My family witnessed him open a bottle of Coke at the bar, laugh and dump it on the floor, while seniors were making their way up to the Buffet. I witness this kid take chicken balls out of the Buffet And throw them against the wall, where his mother picked them up and threw them back into the Buffet. Disgusting, this child is not supervised and his privilege to do whatever while people are eating. Screaming and acting like he’s wild was so annoying and uncomfortable. I would never return to this place ever. It’s a public health health issue
I rarely eat Chinese food. I stopped in to get lunch and they gave me a container and told me to take from the buffet. Two and a half hours after eating there, I was desperately ill. The food didn't taste particularly good either. Cheap, frozen, doughy ect....Food: 1/5
