Park was medium sized. Easy on and off the interstate. Sites were gravel with some small trees to separate the sites. Even though we were very close to the interstate and a truck stop, the RV park was relatively quiet. Check in was easy. Did not even have to go into the office since we had called in advance. As with most RV parks today, there were many full-timers. Those were separated somewhat from those of us who were only there a short time. Only spent one night, but would stay again if the opportunity arises.
No one that works here including the manager is friendly. More along the lines of Unfriendly RVPark. Paperwork taped to window. Went into office to see if they needed anything else and was met with,”If checking in your paperwork is on the window” with a look of don’t bother me. Laundry has to be scheduled, but apparently that has to be scheduled through the manager what I was told who’s just as unfriendly. Our dirt area was on the backside of the RV with blacktop by the front door. They seemed to think we had the best spot. Folks that were there overnight or two nights had shade and nice spots. The only redeeming quality was that if you stood in the right spot you could see Mt Shasta. Vacant hotel next door so trash lined the property and driveway. Pilot truck center was next door as well so if you’re on that side you’d have truck generators going all night. Seemed a good distance off I-5 but could still hear traffic. Ok for ONE night but don’t stay longer. Pay the extra to stay in Mt Shasta City.
A, yes, friendly place to camp. Beautiful views of Mt Shasta with lots of trees. Clean well-kept bathrooms and showers! I wouldn't call it a destination campground, but it's a nice spot for sure and I'd reccomended it to you. I typically do not like campgrounds that allow people to live on property, but they obviously have strict rules as all sites are kept up and clean. We'll done. My only criticism is the placement of the electrical/water hookups. They are on they opposite end of the campsite than the connections to the RV. At least in the area I was in. Over all its a great spot, easy on and off to Interstate 5. Pay them a visit!
It is pretty wild that they call this "Friendly" RV Park. The manager I assume was rather abrupt, to say the least. While we were sitting outside, the workers decided to test the sprinkler system and my girlfriend got sprayed. It was really weird that they didn't tell us they were going to do that. There is a camera in the laundry room, and the manager very helpfully provided an envelope so that we could slip the payment in the slot to pay for it. They left it on the washer so we would see it when we returned instead of talking to us. When we wrote a note to ask for change, we didn't receive any communication, let alone our change. So they'll watch you and chase you down to pay, but aren't really bothered to hold up their end of the bargain. There aren't enough trees to provide you much shade, but there are a sufficient number to block your view of Mount Shasta and make sure a Starlink gets spotty service. The saving grace here is that it is dirt cheap, especially compared to other parts of California. 40 bucks a night is reasonable. If you have the bad luck of getting spot 13, take a wide turn to get in. I would not recommend it nor return.
It's not a bad place to stop for a night or two. 30 Amps was a tad inconvenient, but that's being picky, so no hit on stars there. The drive-thru directions we were left were nowhere near doable as another rig was in the first half of the space. They are one single strip of asphalt with a thin line, dividing them into two spaces with hookups for each. Very quiet and friendly place.
Super helpful and friendly staff, they called me the day I was scheduled to arrive to let me know that there were power and water issues... thankfully everything was fine when I arrived!! Busy truck stop next door but I had a lovely time.
Super sweet staff, very accommodating. We had to postpone our arrival day 3 times due to weather and they were great at allowing that. We came in after hours so had to “self park” and the way the sites are set up was a little confusing but it worked out and we got it. An easier way to turn around to get into sites like #14 would be my only suggestion. Turning around a 40ft 5th wheel was kind of a pain. Other than that it was a great place to stop overnight.
Don't believe the name. Manager is the most unprofessional woman I have ever had the unfortunate experience of dealing with. Refused to refund the remaining days blaming a service animal for an unkempt property that was littered with dog feces prior to being snowed in. The manager should not have a customer service position. If I could give this place negative stars I would. DO NOT stay here. Traveling in the middle of a move with my family, this place was the biggest mistake we could've made. I'm just thankful there was 1 positive interaction. The part time lady that checked us in was amazing, that girl needs a promotion. As long as the Manager acts and looks like a bull who can't get his ropes off, this place is definitely one to avoid at all costs.
Unfortunately we weren't able to stay due to an electrical issue, but the manager, Lauren was great. She tried to help us resolve the issue as much as possible. Sorry we we unable to stay. It's a beautiful little park with a FANTASTIC view of Mt Shasta.
Having made a reservation for our truck and 27’ travel trailer, for a spot, on our trip returning to Canada from Southern California, we would have assumed the roads would have been plowed and sanded within a campground that had an uphill entrance road, and anything but flat pull through and back-in spaces. No notice was given that the campground had 8 - 10” of snow and NOTHING had been done with the roads in the campground. Once you left the bare highway and turned into their uphill driveway, it was a sheet of ice with snow on top. Completely impassable. With the assistance of the campground maintenance man and several campers, we were finally able to manoeuvre to our spot. The staff person at the registration desk indicated she was not the owner, and had nothing else to say. We had prepaid for the reservation and it was too late in the day to try to ‘carry on’. This place is, in our opinion, very poorly managed, and we will not return. The saving grace as always is the kindness of fellow campers. Walkability: No walkability. 8 - 11 of snow, with no roads plowed.
