This Facebook Group is maintained by the Bloomingdale LeDroit Dog Park Association (BLDPA). We are a non-profit organization made of community residents. BLDPA is tasked - through a Memorandum of Understanding with the DC Dept. of Parks and Recreation - with managing and maintaining the dog park in LeDroit Park. For example, we clean up poop when you forget to, we empty the dog park trash cans when the city forgets, we provide the poop bags for use in the park, we enforce the city's rules for dog parks, we sponsor community building events for dog owners in our neighborhood and we sponsor training events, among other things. You can support us by becoming a paid member, volunteering for an event or becoming a Dog Park Ambassador.
We are committed to building a sense of community and increasing safety in Bloomingdale & LeDroit Park by establishing and maintaining a dog park at Gage-Eckington.
