The Friends of Nahanton Park, formed in 1985, collaborated with the City of Newton and landscape architects to create a plan that would secure and protect this valuable open space-and has been engaged with its stewardship ever since.
Located in Newton's southwest corner and accessible from 525 Winchester Street and 455 Nahanton Street, Nahanton Park in its current configuration dates from 1981 and supports some 55 acres of unique habitat including a varied environment of meadow, woods, wetlands, a pond, a large soccer field, and a beautiful woodland path for the disabled that borders the Charles River.
