Friends of the Library (FOTL) are volunteers who support the Huntington Beach Public Library through volunteer work, membership donations, fund-raising act
Friends of the Huntington Beach Public Library is an autonomous volunteer organization governed by its own by-laws and Board of Directors. While cooperative and supportive relations between FOTL and the Library Board and staff is encouraged, all decisions affecting FOTL activities and policies must be made by the FOTL Board of Directors.
Each year, FOTL gives thousands of volunteer hours in support of the Library. In addition, our Used Book and Gift Shop sale profits have made possible a donation of $1.9 million dollars in the past ten years. The FOTL Board works closely with the Library Staff (below) to determine needs and allocation of the funds to various programs.
