The Friends of the Nashua Public Library was formed in 2005 to support and advocate for the public library in Nashua, NH. We raise funds to cover programs that would otherwise be unfilled.
In 2013, we bought $3000 worth of museum passes--the Museum of Science and the Boston Aquarium are the most popular. We spent another $3000 on concerts and programs and about $1400 on movie licenses. We also hold an annual author event that brings the Nashua Reads author for that year to our city. This costs around $7000, depending on the author's fee.
To work in cooperation with the staff and trustees of the Nashua Public Library to support the Library and assist in the development, promotion, and completion of the Library's services, facilities, and programs. To act as a liaison between the community and the Library and to increase public awareness and stimulate the use of the Library's resources.
Secondhand books and media. Some new items like book bags, notecards, and bookflips that promote the Library and its mission.
