The Friends are the link between the Library and the community and its elected officials. We advocate for funding, gifts, and memorials. We support reading and Library cultural programs along with volunteer activities.
Friends of the Palm Springs Library (FOPSL) are enthusiastic supporters who promote interest in the Library, and encourage and administer dues, gifts, and bequests. Library Friends often sponsor a book club, and help promote the critical fundraising programs and special events that help raise the funds needed to purchase library materials and equipment.
THE JOYS OF BEING A FRIEND
This is one of the most exciting and transformative times to be a Friend of the Palm Springs Library. The Library must undergo a substantial renovation, and must receive extensive infrastructure upgrades along with ongoing support for materials and public programming, in order to support basic 21st Century services. The Friends have raised more than $500,000 to purchase books, movies, visual arts, music, furnishings, and electronic equipment.
Create a legacy of enduring friendship with your own personal membership. You can do your part to ensure that the Library transforms into the Valley’s go-to-center for community information, enjoyment, and connectivity. It’s a cause you can hold close to your heart.
