Ugh. I hate that I have to write this review because the campground itself wasn't bad. They have a great pool and many of the people there are nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian forced us to evacuate to Orlando in the middle of our monthly stay. The campground would not refund us any of the amount. All we asked for is the prorated amount for the 10 days or so that we missed out on. To make matters worse, Debbie was extremely rude to me via email and had the nerve to tell me it was OUR choice to leave. Weird... i don't think a MANDATORY hurricane evacuation is our choice. We left the park on Sept 26 and we were told to check to the Facebook page to determine when to come back. Well, we checked the facebook page on Sept 29 and it was posted in all caps to "PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE PARK. PARK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE." So we decided to go back home to Tennessee... I was told by Debbie that the park reopened the next day on the 30th it did, but there was a boil water notice and who knows what other damage we would have been walking into. What were we supposed to do, wait around with our camper for the park to reopen? That's utterly ridiculous. There was no way for us to know how long it would be, and we should AT LEAST be reimbursed for the days that the park was closed. But no, these people are too petty. If you choose this park, you'll probably have a decent time but they'll gladly keep your money if anything happens that is completely out of your control. Plenty of harvest hosts in the area and two decent parks next door. I would try them instead.
I lived here for 1 year prior to buying a home and I loved living here. The staff is nice and I became friends with quite a few of them. They are extremely helpful. The facilities are beautiful and clean. There is no drama here if you are a full timer or visiting. Everyone is friendly and loves to talk. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
The campground carries a historical Florida feel with half of the campground covered by large mossy oak trees. The pool area is also surrounded by mature tropical vegetation. It is exactly what you need for an afternoon relaxing in the sun and nothing else! The campground staff are friendly and helpful. Kayaking along Frog Creek is a beautiful ride with lots of wildlife to see. No need to park a car at the other end, you can go out and come back in without a noticeable change in the current. The campground showers are quite clean and well maintained. The laundry facilities are functional, but the dryers can be frustrating. There are plenty of clothes lines around the park if you don't want to mess with them. Aside from this aspect, we have been here for almost a year and are comfortable and satisfied with the grounds.
A Beautiful park inside and out! We stayed 2 weeks the end of February to the beginning or March 2022. Staff was warm and welcoming. Happy hour every Wednesday was amazing. Continental breakfast 2 mornings a week. We were leaving early and pulled around back, one of the ladies that was setting up the breakfast ran out the back door and wished us safe travels along with 2 handfuls of danishes so sweet! We can't wait to go back next February.
We spent three months here. This was a great place to stay. Clean, super friendly staff and management. Good amount of trees that kept it cool. Excellent schedule of events. Contential breakfast twice a week fun social events. My favorite Monday and Friday Mark and Chris made lunch at the Tiki Bar and it is the best lunch deal in town. The folks we meet there are all great people and now friends. Oh and the cats loved climbing the trees. Will swing by again for sure.
We had a great time! The dog park was nice and the park is kept clean. The river is beautiful! I wish they had better pest control as the mosquitoes and biting gnats were very bad. Also, the staff drives around on golf carts smoking so it is hard to stay away from such if you are sensitive to it.
The place is great as far as vacation wise. The only issue i and a few of our neighbors camping here had was with the rude obnoxious woman in the office debbie. She comes off so rude as if she doesn't have the time to be bothered by those of us staying at Frog creek campground. We asked several times to speak with the owner of the campground and she just ignored the fact that we asked for his information. How anyone can employ such a rude woman is beyond me she has zero hospitality skills. Act's as if she is some kind of big shot a few of us heard her the other day yelling at a customer over the phone. Threatening to kick them out due to a ridiculous rule about vehicle's mean while most of my neighbors staying on site also have multiple vehicles on site. So we took it upon our selves to meet some of the other guest staying here and they have all agreed that woman debbie comes off as just rude and disrespectful. If anyone knows a way to reach the owner of this camp site we would love to have his information so that we can explain to him or her the issue's we have had with that woman. The funny thing is that if you go through the other reviews you will see that other's have also complained about Debbie in the office. It's insane that even on the phone people can tell that she is rude and obnoxious. As i said she is the only issue we had staying here and as you can see other's have felt the same exact way about her.
This Labor Day weekend was our second stay here and it was just as pleasant as the first stay. Friendly staff and nice campers all around. If you're looking for noise, and rowdy campers, this aint the place. Nice and quiet, a good place for the kids to play.
Frog creek must hate children. Talked with someone over the phone before booking and she was very rude, got there to pay and both ladys in the office were very rude, no smiles at all, and I felt like they turned their noses up a bit at my kids but I ignored it. Got our rv to the campground and we still had not been given our site number. Finally got all settled, sent my 9&11 year old out exploring, honor roll students, very well mannered and very familiar with proper campground etiquette, stay out of clubhouse and pool areas without an adult, no cutting through sites.. their bathrooms were very clean, the lots were nicely shaded, was peaceful to walk near the stream. A few days in, the office lady came pounding on my rv door *yelling at me about my kids destroying property decorations, jumping in the stream, they saw the gator, they would never do these things, mind you.. sticking gum to the office ground pavers, cutting through sites, destroying inside clubhouse stuff and so on.. so i yelled back at her that she needs to go attack the parents of the actual kids that did these things, not me! She yelled that i should be ashamed of my parenting.. and I promise i held back punching an old lady! I know my kids, i get compliments on my strict, old fashioned way of parenting all the time, thank you. Later my husband was cleaning a few things out of his car and office lady called and left a nasty voicemail saying she was going to call the police to have his car removed because there was no 'working on vehicles' permitted here. The harrassment just continued. We will not be back and are strongly suggesting that familys find another park to stay at. This park is far from family friendly. Or just far from friendly period. No wonder they jacked the prices up, they have to make up for people not returning. You have to PAY daily per person to use the pool? Seriously? And locking the laundy room in the middle of the day on a saturday? Terra Ceia rv resort is right next door and anyone staying there will smile and wave as you drive past, office is super nice, way better priced and definitely kid friendly. Its honestly night and day.
Ended up staying here for about 3 months with wife and 2 boys 11 & 12 year olds. Park is well kept and full of charm. Residents and management very friendly. We enjoyed our stay quite a bit.
