They were there when I needed them. Dr Davis is a awesome vet. Staff are great. Prices are 2x higher then any other place. Negative is no patience when my kitty needed special food. They wanted to have his yearly exam before giving me his food. However my other kitty vet bill was $1200, I needed some patience and they refused. Went to another vet Thrive and they said they would of extended
Definitely felt like they could care less about my precious kitty when I took her here to get spayed. Cold staff, couldn’t be bothered to answer basic questions, saw the doc for all of 30 seconds. I never went back after everything was done. I don’t think they treat animals very lovingly when you’re not around. They just see them as a paycheck. To this day I still regret bringing my baby here. Found a much warmer staff at a different Vet. Just my experience, but when you go to see your own doctor, your wellbeing should be important to them. Pets are no different.
The smell was unbearable and disgusting. I've had animals all my life and have been to a quite o few Veterinary offices an never have walked into a office that had a smell like this. The Doctor asked questions and wouldnt allow me to answer them. He kept talking over me. Customer Service was not very good. We were the only patients in the for a wellness check for a new puppy. We were there for an hour an a half. Only spoke with Doctor for 10 mins. The rest we were just sitting an waiting. So disappointing. On the 2nd visit we had a much better experience and felt more comfortable with the Doctor and staff. I have been back there 3 more times after my initial visit. I do recommend the office.
My puppy wolverine has been here several times now for shots and various check ups and absolutely loves the staff. My husband and I like the staff as well since they talk to us like regular people instead of ignoring us or talking down to us like we've had in the past. Wolverine gets excited every time he's in the waiting room because he loves his friends at Fuerte : We also appreciated that they offered to clip his nails for cheaper than Petco! Great place with great people - we love it here.
I've been here a couple times, mostly in urgent care situations. I've never seen the same vet more than once, so I can't speak to the high pressure stuff I see other people have written. For me it's been all good. Seen quickly, open on weekends, good communication with the vets. I haven't shopped their prices, but it is an animal hospital not a standard vet.
The doctor and the staff saved our dogs life. He ate rat poison. Get that stuff out of your house. It took day and nights of intense treatment to prevent brain swelling and slow death. Both the doctor and the staff were very competent and friendy without being overly emotional. We thank them from the bottom of our heart. The costs were very fair for the kind of care our dog needed. Dr. Davis called every day to give us updates. Again. Get that poison out of you house.
This has got to be the most money hungry place I have ever been too. The Vet did not listen to anything I was telling him, I would say, "My dog has not urinated since yesterday afternoon" He would ask, "How long since your dog urinated?" My dog was in bad shape, he had to be carried into the vet office. This vet did a short exam and left the room, the nurse returned with a list of recommendations for treatments so long I couldn't begin to keep track of the cost. Hospitalization, x rays, IV, scans, blood work, urine labs, cath, I have limited funds, one prescription was 22.00 for 30 pills. I asked if I could get a smaller number of pills, because if the pills did not help my dog urinate in 24 hours he would need to come back, or be dead in 48 hours. There was no need for me to have 30 of these pills. They agreed to give me just 10 pills, for the cost of 18.00. Then the vet gave my dog the wrong medication.. Please don't take your animals there.
I have been taking my pets, both cats and dogs, to Dr Brian Davis at Fuerte Animal Hospital for over 25 years. Dr Davis is attentive, caring, and very professional. His staff have been consistently warm and friendly. I would not have my pets healthcare in the hands of anyone else.
I've called twice to have my kittens seen. The first time was to get information, the second to set up an appointment because you guys open at 7:45am before work. Both times I spoke with a lady who has zero patience. If she doesn't want to talk with new clients, she shouldn't be answering the phone. It was as though she couldn't understand why I wouldn't know how your vet clinic does things. Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere.
When my family used Fuerte Animal Hospital, it was under an emergency basis. Around 8 pm, we walked into the hospital with our Saint Bernard gasping for air because he chewed my albuterol inhaler. The evening doctor was absolutely wonderful. He took Beethoven into the clinic and quickly observed him. We were referred to the animal emergency hospital in La Mesa because Beethoven's condition was beyond what the clinic's abilities at the time were able to perform. The doctor was going to call an ambulance for us, but told us that we could probably get him to the La Mesa hospital faster if we drove him. What a wonderful clinic to take the time to assist us in our time of need. I have heard horror stories about clinics that have turned away patients because they were closing for the evening. Within two days, my family also sent a condolence card in regards to Beethoven's passing. Everyone from the clinic wrote a few heart felt sentiments. Once again, thank you for everything that you did for our family. Dean, Heather, and the 5 adults/teenagers in tow, Alton.
