Bernardo Valdez made my fathers funeral arrangements as smooth as ever. I’ve never experienced exceptional customer service and care from the staff the way I did under these hard circumstances. I truly appreciate everything Mr. Valdez did from the beginning to end for me and my family. The Mariscal and Barrios family truly appreciate the dedication and commitment that was provided by Mr. Valdez and the staff for our family. Thank you Martin funeral home east!!!
Very professional yet kind and supportive staff. They were very supportive and patient in explaining things my sister and I were not familiar with in dealing with funeral services. Always pleasant and helpful by phone. I would recommend this kind company to friends and family and would recommend to those of us YOUNGER folk to call and talk with someone at Dignity Memorial to get an idea of how much funeral services cost for ONESELF - because the time comes for us all sooner that we know, so it wouldn't hurt to call a few places to get an idea of cost and time in order to start putting $ aside.
The worst customer service I have ever received. They steal from your grief with their incompetence. I am writing to share my experience with Martin Funeral Home. My mother recently passed away and we were unfortunately met with an unprofessional and disappointing experience at Martin Funeral Home. Katherine, the person in charge, was not sensitive to our needs during this difficult time. Firstly, Katherine wore gaudy jewelry which was inappropriate given the situation. We were already struggling with having to dig into our savings to say goodbye to my mother, and her unprofessional appearance made it worse. Furthermore, after reviewing repetitive information, my father was shocked by the prices which Katherine claimed were recently increased, pointless and not helpful. Katherine did not provide us with a timeline for the obituary and failed to inform us that the funeral home was closed on weekends. When we submitted the obituary, we found out that the links were not working and it was not correct. However, because it was a Friday afternoon, we could not get assistance until the following Monday. Despite my attempts to fix the problem, I was made to feel like I was wrong and that the link was working. The whole experience was a disaster, and we felt unsupported by Martin Funeral Home. Additionally, no one informed us to bring in the video and music a day before, which led to confusion and chaos on the day of the Rosary. The equipment was not functioning properly and my family had to run around trying to fix the audio instead of grieving for my mother. I was even rushing around doing the funeral home's job, which was unacceptable. Furthermore, when I arrived to see my mother's hair and makeup, it was all wrong. Her nails were painted when i specifically said I would bring press on nails, so her hands looked bloody. I had to fix her eyebrows and hair. Instead of being able to grieve, I was again rushed and made to feel uncomfortable by Katherine's offensive remarks. She even suggested that only a daughter can do her mother's makeup, which was unnecessary. The rental casket was also in terrible condition, full of paint scuffs and scratches. It looked trashy and matched the trash service we received. Furthermore, there was no one there to help us turn on the video during the rosary, and we missed grieving with friends and family as a result. Katherine also failed to inform us that we could view my mother's body one last time in the morning, which meant that only a few of us were there instead of the entire family. The cards on the flowers were removed without any indication of who gave each arrangement, making it difficult for us to show our gratitude. Katherine even asked if I wanted to close the casket as we were leaving for the church, which should have been communicated to us earlier, resulting in me doing it by myself without my father or brother. Finally, when I expressed my wish to be present for my mother's cremation, Katherine dismissed my request and had to reschedule it because she did not listen to me. This caused further delays in our grieving process. Overall, my experience with Martin Funeral Home was horrible. The unprofessionalism of the staff made an already difficult time even more unbearable. I will make sure to share my experience with friends and family across the nation and post my review everywhere I can. I will also advise everyone to choose another funeral home as Martin was heartless and worthless. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I have dealt with two previous funeral homes before. It is disappointing and disgusting to have gone through such an awful experience during such a difficult time.
Mr. Ivan and his staff are awesome. We had a very unique request for my father so I thought. It seems to me there is Nothing they cannot Master. The whole experience is obviously a sad occasion for many, My Father would not have it, my father loved Vegas and New Orleans he wanted a New Orleans Style Funeral and it was pulled off by Martin Funeral Home East. From our initial visit to total perfection is what Mr. Ivan and His staff accomplished. We had a job to do and it was "leave your tears at the door and bring your Beads and Boas!" Thank you for making what would have been a very sad time a Celebration of Life. God Bless.
The entire staff of Martin Funeral Home was exceptional. All of my questions were answered and every detail of the services was outstanding. Though I was in grief, the staff was very kind and generous towards my needs. Family members were impressed with the attention to detail and all the care given to me and my wife. Thank you for a job well done. I will ask my son to make sure that my services are at Martin Funeral home, I am a USA veteran.
Martin funeral home went above and beyond in the accommodations of my father’s service. We could not have been more pleased. Bernie made everything so personal and the entire staff showed such patience with our family. I would highly recommend them. One of the things that was very nice and was very helpful was having food for the immediate family. It allowed us the time to focus on spending time with family.
I would like to thank Bernie Valdez and the staff for going above and beyond for our family during this very difficult time. They truly know the meaning of customer service wich many places have forgotten . I must say with all honesty, they provided stellar service to our family. They took care of my little girl there, and handled every aspect of our service for her with great care, compassion , and professionalism . I even would like to give great thanks to the custodial crew there. The place is immaculate. Thank you all there. We sincerely appreciate it . Hopefully we are not in need of their service anytime soon but will definitely keep going back and referring them to others for sure. Again thank you for the outstanding job yall did. If there was 6 stats thyd get it. Robert Escobar
Personal is very caring and help in any possible way they can for our Loved ones.
The people at Martin East are extremely professional and sympathetic. We didn’t realize how backed up most funeral homes are, due to Covid. We needed a rather quick service and they made it happen within a week. Everyone there, bent over backward to help us and accommodate our needs. I can’t say enough about how good they are. I put my trust and faith in them and they came through for us. Their facilities are very nice and exactly what you need for a beautiful funeral service.
All staff and service’s where above and beyond. Martin Funeral Home East is where I will be taking my services. My mother was so happy and proud that they did so much for her. Our fathers funeral was wonderful and meet his needs. Once again thank you and God bless you. I will say Thank You for your services. Staff takes this so serious and love what they do. I now understand what they go through to make a family comfortable. Thank you so MUCH. Mrs Cobos.
