I walked in today for my first time ever being in a Gabe's And I was excited to check it out... I was not greeted by the black woman who was working the door. But the black lady behind me was greeted and even talked to. I'm white and I 100% was racially profiled by her. You don't greet one person but ignore the other one. The employees were talking to another lady about me..... And making fun of me. I've never had anyone treat me so poorly in a store so I walked out and left my cart full of stuff. I would never recommend this location if you're white because you are going to be treated like trash and if you CC, I highly recommend it.... This location does not feel safe. My visit is Nov 2nd at noon. So if someone wants to speak to the greeter about how she treats people.... Which I highly doubt will be done.... That's when I was there so you obviously would know who it is. She had short hair.
This store has great deals all year round, it's a bit messy, but if you're looking for a gift, an outfit, a toy, or whatever you need, you'll find it here, and at a gift price. I love this place
Don’t put anything on Layaway. I had about 20 outfits on layaway. When I got it out only had half the items. At least 7 of my daughters outfits was missing. They even took socks.
Low budget store = low quality products. Bought a phone charger that immediately did not work. Returned it without an issue. The new charger worked for a day. I didn't go back. It's likely I won't.
This place is so packed with good prices and neat clothes and housewares, it took hours to get a thorough look at everything! I live in another city and never been to a Gabe's before, and I will definitely be back
Customer service is horrible. Had an item marked $9.99. All of the same were marked $9.99. It rang up $12.99. Even though it was clearly marked $9.99 they would not honor the price. What kind of customer service is that? Store is dirty and unorganized anyway. What a shame. They done lost my business today
I like to dig through this store because you can find some good buys. But you do have to dig.
New store for me. This place is a cross between a Ross and a Walmart. Interesting finds here. Hit or miss as inventory changes.
Updated 2022: staff still friendly but store is now not so organized and deals are less amazing. It feels less safe than 4 years ago but you can still find a treasure here or there. 2018 Review: My neighbor and I go almost every week to see what we can find. The staff are always friendly and the clothes are much more organized than other discount stores. I've recommended it to all my family and friends. They're always pleased when they go too.
Deals. On the right day you can find so many great deals. You might have to dig for them but they're usually worth it. The staff is usually pretty friendly and it's fairly well organized when you compare it to similar stores in the area like Ross/TJ Maxx. You can get everything from a backpack to a watch and at an affordable price. The photo is random--of a comically large water bottle and part of the sign behind the cashiers. I'll take a better one on my next visit.
