Dr. Salvador Galindo is originally from the northeastern coast in Vera Cruz, Mexico.
He earned his dual bachelor’s degree in Biology and Mathematics from the Diaz Miron College. He received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University Autonomous of Tamaulipas in 1995.
In 1998, after completing a two-year postgraduate training in surgery and anatomy in his native country, he moved to the United States where he began working at Chicago’s largest surgical referral practice.
He spent two and half years at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital School at Purdue University to further his knowledge in small animal medicine and surgery. While at Purdue University, he underwent certification of his Veterinary Degree through the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinarian Graduates by the American Veterinary Medical Association (ECFVG - AVMA). Following his accreditation he joined a fast paced small animal emergency and referral hospital in Tampa, Fl.
Dr. Galindo began his Small Animal Surgical residency training at Veterinary Surgical Service in Tampa, FL and completed his residency training by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) accredited residency program in the small animal surgery department at the prestigious Veterinary Referral Center in Malvern, Pa.
Dr. Galindo has extensive experience and specialized training in a broad range of soft tissue and orthopedic procedures including fracture repair, emergency abdominal procedures, surgical oncology and plastic reconstructive surgery. While his research focus during his residency was on a novel medial shoulder stabilization procedure, he gained and diversified his training in but not limited to TPLO, TTA, TPO, DPO, Interlocking Nail, Novel Laryngeal Paralysis technique, Cardiovascular, Urinary System, Thoracic and Neurological surgeries.
Dr. Galindo is certified on Kyon- Zurich Cementless Total Hip Replacement, Arthrexx- Total Knee Replacement. He is well versed in performing Arthroscopy and minimally Invasive assisted Laparoscopy.
Dr. Galindo has given professional presentations on various aspects of surgical diseases and its treatments. His personal interests include spent time with his wife Ewelina and his son Julek. Friends play a very important role in his life since most of their families are overseas. While he also enjoys reading, biking and playing recreational soccer, you can also find him relaxing, watching movies or studying foreign languages.
Dr. Galindo is ACVS board eligible surgeon.
