We are still setting up. More info to come soon!
Here at Gallery for Hope we take all sales and donate ten (10) percent of the sale price to the charity of the customers choice.
How we can do this:
We find local artists to create a piece they wish to sell. We discuss with them the price until we reach an agreement. Each artist will be fully informed that they will only recieve eighty (80) percent of the final agreed on price. This is because we take out twenty (20) percent from the final price. We keep ten (10) percent and donate the other ten (10) percent to the charity of the customers choice.
Example: Item sells for $30.
Artist: $24
Gallery for Hope: $3
Charity: $3
While three (3) dollars might not seem like a lot. It could quickly add up. If we get twelve (12) or more orders of thirty (30) dollars or more that all want to donate to the same charity, then we are donating over thirty-five (35) dollars to that one charity. That is only three hundred and sixty (360) dollars of beautifull local art.
Best part is, we do more then just sell art straight out. We also have two (2) other options.
First there is negotiating your own price. Sometimes artists won't know how much they want to sell their art for. In these situations we will suggest to them allowing us to negotiate with customers a price with-in a predetermined range.
Secondly, we will have artist's who will be willing to make a commissioned piece with the cost of supplies up front. So say a customer wants a painting of a wolf on a 11x18 canvas in oils, after looking through sample pieces of the commission artist's, they would order the painting identifing the artist whom's style they prefer. We will then contact the artist and inform them of the order. If that artist didn't feel confortable painting that subject and/or use that media then we would inform the customer of this and ask they pick another artist. If the artist can then the artist will tell us the cost of initial supplies (i.e. canvas, paints, paint thinners, etc.) they might not already have, and tell us what their final price is. After that is said and done we will collect the initial supply funds from the customer and transfer them to the artist. (We do not collect any money from this amount nor does this have 10 percent taken out to be given to a charity the full amount goes to the artist for the supplies. After the piece is completed the the transaction would continue like normal from there.
