We are utterly disappointed by our experience with Galley Kayafas not only did they fail to fulfill their contractual obligations, but they also demonstrated a complete disregard for the artists they represented. The owner of the gallery Arlette Kayafas after selling our artwork withhold the payment and did not pay us as artists. It is absolutely unacceptable to exploit artists by withholding payment for their hard work and creativity. This unprofessional behavior reflects a profound lack of integrity and raises serious questions about the gallery's commitment to supporting and advocating for artists. This kind of exploitative behavior tarnishes the reputation of the entire art community and undermines the trust between artists and galleries in SOWA. Please be advised not to work with this gallery and lady, they disrespect you!
Absolutely terrible experience with Kayafas! I wish I could give them zero stars. As an artist, avoid them at all costs. They have no hesitation about selling your artwork and refusing to pay you a single cent. They harm artists with their unethical methods, so if you care about supporting artists, stay far away from them!
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this gallery, and I cannot emphasize enough how unprofessional and dishonest they were. After they sold several of my artworks and other Iranian artists from a show that I curated they failed to pay me for my hard work. It's been months, and despite numerous attempts to reach out, they have ignored all my messages and emails regarding payments. Not only did they exploit my artwork for their own profit, but they also showed a complete lack of respect for artists and their livelihoods. It's disheartening to see a gallery, which is supposed to be a supportive platform for artists, behave so callously and irresponsibly. This kind of treatment is simply unacceptable and speaks volumes about their lack of integrity. I would strongly advise other artists and collectors to steer clear of this gallery. They take advantage of the artist s money they make from the sales goes to their pockets.
I would have given Kayafas zero star if it were an option. If you are an artist and even thinking about working with them, RUN AWAY as fast as you can. They will happily work with you, sell your artwork and then simply not pay a penny to the artist. If you are a collector, an art lover, or simply just going there to see the latest… remember this, THEIR METHODS HURT ARTISTS. Supporting them comes at the cost of artists…
Be cautious working with Gallery, especially if you are an artist. Simply put, they will happily sell your artwork and never pay you!
Really sad the way this gallery treats talented curators and artists. Be careful
This gallery is a fraud! They have stolen money from talented artists!
What an amazing gallery. We were able to meet the artist herself! Amazing artworks! It is sligtly bigger than the neighboring galleries and everyone inside was wearing a mask. They also provided hand sanitizers. I will be back again :
This gallery is a fraud.
I just love this gallery and try to stop by every time I'm in Boston. Shows are consistently smart and engaging.
